I though it was the 660Ti Vs. 7870? Nvidia does not sell and GK104 GPU's anymore but the ones out there still perform. Likely in the same levels as the Pitcairn do now.
$249? Which of the Pascals is sold at MSRP price? In the current generation of NVidia cards "MSRP price" is a fiction created for marketing purposes. Real MSRP price is the price for FE. Of course, as usual, after a few months, when all cards are sold at a lower price - then we'll see Pascale in the "MSRP price". Real price for the GTX 1060 is $299. It’s $60 more than RX 480. For the same performance in DX11, less VRAM and gimped DX12. I’m not impressed.
Isn't Pitcairn 7850? I think the clocks are a little higher but it has the same core count as a 7850 which MSRP'd at $250. The 660 MSRP'd at $230 but I think AMD already cut their price by then. It's hard finding modern game benchmarks of a 660 but it's appeared to be about 20% faster then a 750Ti, so basically around a 950 currently I guess. Idk, Hilbert should do an old card roundup if he still has any of them laying around. Do like an old new driver test with em too, see how drivers effected everything throughout the years. How is real MSRP FE price? I didn't pay $700 for my Strix.
Yeah 7850 was Pitcairn Pro and 7870 was Pitcairn XT the 370 is Pro. All I was doing is pointing out how much disparity there is in the $100-200 price bracket. That and AMD and Nvidia fans want to destroy the 960 for being a crap card but AMD has some relative turds down there too. 960 was overpriced at first and the market adjusted the price quickly.
It would be nice but i dont think HH has the time to do this roundup testing over and over again. His charts are outdated tho, you cant relign on it anymore. For instance in HH charts 280X have 7.3k overall score in FS while im getting 8.3k atm, thats how much things has changed. Btw, how much was that Strix, 699$?
Nvidia probably went for the 192 bus because it's enough to beat out the RX480. I'm 100% sure Nvidia knows what it's doing which is to leave room for improvement to maybe fill the market later on when AMD tries to beat the 1060 with an RX485. All nvidia has to do then is make an 256 bus 8gb 1060ti. Come on boys you know it's gonna happen that way. 1060Ti might even be easier for Nvidia to just use a cut down version of the 1070 if it needs too.
You are overclocking and Hilbert is using a different core system than you. I wish he would move to just ranking 3DMark benches with GPU score not total. The PCB of the 1060 is already set up for 256 and 8GB.
Asus is more realistic than NVidia and see how people react to the Pascals prices. How much have you seen GTX 1080 for $600 and 1070 of the $360? Hundred around the world? It's just PR trick.
Yeah, the PCB shows 2 missing memory chips. Reserved to 1060ti? Idk, i thought nvidia gived up on a "Ti" branding on midrange cards.

Lacking feature_levels doesn't mean the hardware isn't DX12 compatible. More specifically, GCN is what the new APIs were designed around. So yeah, Tahiti and the rest are DX12 just fine. Hell, even Fermi is. I Asynchronous engines is a DX12 feature. And preemption is different from asynchronous execution. I don't know what you mean by "only the DX12 features", and neither do you, quite obviously. What are you talking about? GPU preemption exists for many years, and a recent implementation under DX11.1 has been around since even the FarCry 3 days. Every single GPU that is DX11.1 compatible is using preemption. Even the ****ty Intel integrated ones. Unless those numbers are Watts, right? Then we obsess. When it's hilariously small memory buses, shader counts and vram amounts, then we don't. There hasn't been a single piece of hardware that hasn't been hamstringed from its "raw numbers". Totaly :3eyes:

If raw numbers were king, Titan X with its wide bus and masses of CUDA cores would be king. Doesn't quite work like that.
