Yeah theres been 4 updates since 2014 it seems: http://steamcommunity.com/app/20500/discussions/0/617320628399848507/ Heres a few of the many patch notes: This is how you keep older games relevant on the PC. Rather than release a "remaster", they did what devs should be doing for older games that are only 5 or so years old.
Went ahead and picked up Doom, was going to hold off til I got a new GPU but sod it I am sure my 7950 will do fine.
Removing GFWL is what triggered them to start making the updates. And, they only stopped updating the game originally because of the THQ bankruptcy. With game rights being sold off, they couldn't continue updates as it was unclear where the IP would end up. But, when the rights landed with Deep Silver, Volition had the ability to continue support since they had been bought by Deep Silver as well. Like many games at the time, removing GFWL and replacing it with STEAMworks was a main feature. But, they figured they would add in features and fixes they never got the chance to do before.
That's impressive. Have had the game on disc for quite some time, wonder if I could activate the code in Steam...
Damn, i'm so happy of buying the last Tomb Raider and Firewatch. They're both worth every euros i put into it, if not more. They're trully awesome games, love it.
I'm happy with that Red Faction Guerilla game.. who would have thought hitting people with a huge hammer was so satisfying.
