It performs as expected. Noise wise and power usage wise it's a let down. 4GB version has slower VRAM.

Some samples overclock really, really poorly. It looks like Global Foundries 14nm Finfet is a mess.

1375 on hilberts card gives some hope. Still no no for the reference design horrible cooler. Will see how the aib cards fare next month.

For the price (Finland not withstanding) it is really good value for the money.

They match maxwell. But here in lies the issue that the damn thing draws so much through motherboard. I wouldn't even be amazed if that is the issue with a lot of the overclocking. I think they can get way better once that 14nm from glofo/samsung gets better but that was the only thing that is a let down really. I would still recommend this over 970 if both similarly priced. That is a big if considering silly prices we are seeing here and there in EU.

Cracking results, it's performing a bit better than I expected, some results show it performing similarly to a 970 and some ahead of a 980 but with that said the performance seems to be a bit varied from one benchmark to another so it makes me think there is room for driver optimisation (nothing new there AMD -_-).

Power usage though, that certainly didn't meet expectations :/

I hope the custom cards will at least allow a decent OC, so it will surpass the 970 when it comes to performance.

Considering the amount of hardware that amd puts on the die no wonder it draws a lot of power. But one has to think that Nvidias way of not making hardware schedulers is not a bad one.

Given the performance/watt ratio and probably more heat. It's not worth it.

Because nvidia does so much in software and emulates that amd does on hardware they have distinct advantage in a lot of things now. More money gives nice things ^^

Amd wouldn't compete whatsoever without the hardware tho.

that post made my day complete. it literally filled my day with stuff to read :)

something that hasn't been made in the past but would be interesting though is a statistic of the average results of all reviews cumulated.
at least for the games & resolutions that are included in 90% of the reviews...

sorry i dont have time :nerd:

I hope truly custom card with a 8pin and custom cooler could make this card better, but the stock one it's surely shelf for me!!!
Waiting to see what a 1060 can offer or I'll wait next gen for the upgrade.
My 660ti-sli still do the job
