    First review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CJBaZ9V2Eo

slower than the 390 and gets spanked by the 970 (some oc model that is nowhere near 980 performance so I'd expect around 1362mhz). Poor overclocker, only 1.5% oc, anything after that caused issues. Temps after oc go from 83C to 91C. Pretty disappointing.

Guess I got the wrong input of time, as pcper had ET and PT as their things. Then I probably forgot which I was selecting, AM or PM, because it's apparently really hard to use a 24 hour clock :p

Pretty good 290x/390 performance slower in some faster in some. 32 rops might be limiting the card bit. And well those temps and not oc'ing at all because of it. Gets spanked in games where 970 spanks 290x and 390. Tho 290x and 390 can be overclocked by some 10-15% if the RX 480 can't be it will lose hard (while using half the power ofc).

Now I am seriously interested what others get from oc'ing the reference and how it does with aib. But seems like the cooler is limiting af kind of like it was with reference 290 and 290x those things oc'd nowhere and throttled hard.

Muropaktetti.com and Techpowerup apparently got **** samples that will run hot and likely overclock extremely poorly too. So it looks like chances are high for crap samples.

Now I know why AMD used Hitman in their PR shows & slides & everywhere...

Need some written reviews, frametimings and such please.

The ToT review was kind of disappointing. It was losing out hard in some scenarios to the old 290x and 390 - not that I was expecting major performance win, but I was expecting it to at least keep performance parity.

Looking forward to seeing what the boardpartners come up with.

I wasn't going to buy any reference cards :D knowing full well how awful they can be. AMD reference have been horrible since forever.

Well it does have 32 less rops. :D But in the end it was winning a lot in some scenarios and there was parity most of the time. And few times it lost. But you can't oc the reference one I guess.

I don't think cooling will solve this... By the way, apparently one retailer here in Finland (I guess Jimm's) has some cards (less than 100 though).

How the **** did AMD manage to make it slower than the 390? It makes no sense at all. GTX 970 and GTX 980 still what you want to buy if you want low power consumption and decent fps. You can probably buy one second hand for less than what you'd end up paying for the RX 480.

A bit more than 1,5 OC and system crash...
Or they are dumb in Overclocking or it seems a serious quality problem. In a thermal vision video the card showed an hyperHeating on the VRM...maybe that's the problem.
We have to wait custom cards

I think it will improve somewhat with custom board and well keeping the temps down is always a nice thing. But verkkokauppa should have some they added the rx 480 on their list, no cards to see yet tho.

Yes I know. But it is a great price if 212€ was the price for that in Finland (not gonna happen) it would be good. 4gb is fine still for a lot of things the RX 480 will be used for. Even tho 8gb is the one I want.

    @Yobooh

    It ain't for me ;)

£175 for 4GB isnt bad at all. Its cheaper than even 380X. What about 8GB ver?
