Well, depends on the game type also. I don't mind playing Tomb raider 35-50FPS. But shooters and racing game have to be 60-144fps.

By the way SSAA(Super Sampling AA)=DSR(same thing but branded Nvidia, and more resolution available).
At 1080p 2xSSAA equals DSR at 4K. So indeed, if you go for 4K, 2xSSAA, 4K DSR you'll need the best GPU out there.

Wouldn't buying a 980ti regardless if it's slightly better with high OC be kind of a bad choice regarding power draw and heat caused by the OC itself?. Also would the 980ti perform well in the DX12 realm when it comes to be without the driver support that would go to the 1070?.

Also wth is with ZOTAC and it's 1070's prices? The regular amp with 2 fans is 450$ and the extreme is 480$ I'm like wtf in this regard because isn't zotac still considered below the top companies?. And fyi newegg has the extreme ready to buy right now if want to spend that dough.:stewpid:

There's no question. Unless you get a great deal on the 980-Ti, the 1070 is the card to buy in this price range. Great product.

is it worth going from 980 to 1070? also would £200 be a fair price for 980 or too high? selling it to my cousin so want it to be fair.

    Game at 1440p

    Thanks

    1070 (or 980Ti) is good enough for 1440p/60Hz :)

Guys, should I get the Founders Edition right now or wait for custom versions. The stocks are very limited here, only one store has a GTX 1070.

Well can you live with the blower style card and maybe more noise and slightly less OC and alil more heat?. If so grab one if you can't wait anymore but just think about this can you see your self in the future being regretful or settling on this. And would you be able to see yourself happier with waiting and getting something you really want.

    LOL sounds like *SPAM* life.

GTX 1070 is way better :

    - Faster
    - More energy efficient.
    - More Vram
    - New features (VR, Ansel...).

Except for overclocking, which is why I don't bother especially after seeing other's numbers. If you want 20K scores in 3dmark, then, GTX 980ti is the way to go. If you want fastest base performance, then, GTX 1070 without question plus all above points.

Sli GTX 1070 totally do-able without 1000watt power-supplies is another plus.

People never buy graphic cards because they have the higher 3dmark score !!!! 3dmark don't tell anything it depends on several factors (graphic driver used at the first place...), real world gaming benchmarks will tell the whole story.

And VR doesn't work on 980 Ti? :3eyes:

Faster might be an "advantage", but totally insignificant if you can catch a 980 Ti at a good better price now.
Doubt the 6GB vRAM will be an issue.
