    We shall see tommorow.
Hillbert will give us some insight into new RX480.
I see this GPU from XFX Black runing Witcher 3 on almost Maxed settings w/o G...Works and AA
And there was something like 50FPS average !
    OK -> tommorow

1304MHz on the 970. Not even 10% OC.

    You've seen it huh ?

    "More often than you think."

You can have 5 GPU manufacturers and 3 of them may often have performance crown. While those 2 remaining would be just low end focused all the time.

When you count your forest walks, you can say: "I often bring mushrooms from forest."
But there is no quantification saying that you have to bring mushrooms in more than 50% of time to have right to use word "often".

And then you can face reality that AMD/ATi could as well have 51% of time developed stronger or better GPU than nVidia.

    Think about it...
Monthly, bimonthly or quarterly paper magazine, who bought their 480 fair and square.

What are they supposed to do? Pretend to be an AMD partner who signed an NDA? A man's gotta eat.

Another leak showing the 480 slower than a 970 OC. I'm pretty confident this really just will be slightly faster than a stock 970 and slower than 980. It'll overclock to around 1350mhz max, maybe 1400 on AIB solutions. Overclocked it will be just slower than an overclocked 970, in neutral games and benchmarks.

In other words: we've already had this performance for approximately 2 years already and nvidia did it on 28nm. :3eyes:

Yeah but now its available for much less and it has 8gb of Vram instead of 3.5.

    Polaris for everyone.

OC and OC. It is so good to see that OC. In the end GTX 980Ti is here for long time and is 28nm and is now cheaper. So why OC vs OC GTX 1080 makes any sense?

Any supporting argument for GTX 1080 against GTX 980Ti will be argument for RX-480 vs GTX 970. And therefore will stand against your own previous arguments.

Ah, those contradictions... one has to love them.

Surely with driver updates it will slighty surpass OC 970, And hopefully custom cards will be better in OC.
The point it's the price, cause you can find at the moment a 970 @240€ and 390@250€ and I don't believe the rx480 4gb will be less than 240€, and 8gb less than 280€ here in italy

To me it looks like it is quite a bit slower on world of tanks then my 290x. Even tho tested on 1080 and I have 1200p.

32 rops must be limiting the card a lot. Not the bandwidth really.

    390/390x, 970 and 980 won't be available soon anyway.

I am more interested in how good the 380 does in those tests.

If oc'd RX 480 gets 13400 in fire strike, or somewhere near 3000 on ultra it should be as fast or faster then oc'd 970.

But a 1080 is still faster than an oc 980ti, and the 480 should challenge the full gm204, not the cut one, but whatever floats your boat

Yes OC. It's not my cup of tea, but fans have asked for it.

My ears are bleeding due to how many times I've heard:
480 OC this OC that, stock meh, but over 9000 when OC

    have your OC... gdamn :p

    5% oc

But when it's nvidia card being evaluated OC doesn't count

We have to wait custom cards for true OC results of both 10xx cards and rx480.
10xx cards have a terrible VRM and custom cards could improve it.
Rx480 cooler it's just too small from what I've seen

There are custom 1080 already. They don't OC any better than the reference card.
