Well then, game on dude :)

I'm also past the benchmarking think. Might try just once more to see the absolute max my card can handle but after that it's just focus on gaming.

Well it seems Jay from Jayz Two Cents found a good overclocking 1070 card which is the EVGA GTX 1970 SC edition which reach 2169mhz and he had a 2nd SC edition card for SLI stuff and that card got 2139mhz on the core clock. Very good OC for the 1070 cards.

I was going to grab a 1080 but I'm going to wait for the 1080Ti after all.

Meanwhile, I just snagged an MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8G card. It'll tide me over for a good year or so. My 970 is the same model and it's been great. Getting the 1070 also allowed me to use a chunk of the 1080 money I'd set aside to buy my girlfriend a nice new phone (Moto X Pure). Scoring points and getting a new GPU. :nerd:

    Around 10%.ADD another 10% after 1070 OC so 20% total.Not worth 500+ Euro.

I think from a 780ti/970/290X or lower performing card, it's a great upgrade.

With a 980 though, you're sitting at the threshold of where it becomes less of a "wow" upgrade and more a "noticeable improvement". Pretty much the same as upgrading to the 980Ti has been all along but at a better price point.

With a 980 I think the more wow style upgrade that you are looking for can be found with the 1080 rather than the 1070 but dont get me wrong the 1070 is a decent upgrade from a 980.

I think you posted in GTX 1070 thread instead of 980ti

Same performance as 1070. I dont see why people say 980ti is a faster becouse its clearly not.

Show me how many 1070 users can hit 21.5k gpu score in this thread please. Otherwise just leave if all you have to add is misinformation
    1070 at 2080mhz (20,8k gpu score, not quite 21.4k of Xenthor) http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5293566&postcount=151

    Stormy got a 19k on his gaming X 1070 (1607mhz). Why do you think oc'd 1070 cant reach 21.5k?

    because I just linked to a 2088mhz 1070 that can't even hit 21k. so it's still a bit off.

If i would buy a card right now it would be the 1070 for sure. dont want old tech. It could be faster a bit with drivers, it seems more quiet and has more ram. Oh and its also cheaper atm.

1070 is a great card. Perfect fit for 1440p it seems. If i was building now, i'll go for it.
