it wont get you all the way there on ultra on modern AAA, but close.

i have an 290 OC, which is about where this will be, i usually get 50-60fps all ultra at 1080P.

If you dial back shadows and draw distances a littel, you can usually get a solid 60fps.

I want to be able to play battlefield 1, mirror's edge catalyst, doom and titanfall 2 at 60fps... If this is possible with the 480, it'll be a no brainer for me, even tho the card might cost 2x the launch price in my country...

I hope so, i can't upgrade really often so I need the 480 to last at least 2 years... but i'm kinda worried about microsoft launching the scropio. 6 teraflops is a lot for consoles, i can only start imagining how much worse the pc ports will be.

If game X ran well on a 290x, you can expect a rx480 to perform similarly.

If game X ran badly on a 290x, you can expect a rx480 to perform better.

Well.. the 480 pretty much has the same power as the old 290x, this card is around 3 years old.

I think you will be able to play 2 years with the 480, but not with maxed-out settings.

All these games will play at 1080p30 on the PS4. That means that you will be able to play them properly even with a card like mine at console quality settings at 1080p60. Unless the console baseline requirements change, don't even bother.

Sounds like a good card. Will there be a 490 card?

The snobs might not like it, but if this card performs and is priced how the leaks suggest then it will help PC gaming grow.

I do feel sorry for those looking to sell similar performing hardware though.

I hope AMD has improved tessellation performance :)
Kinda sucks that all the hairworks games destroy AMD performance due to high tessellation.

Nah, feel sorry for those who already sold similar performing hardware, expecting this to be an upgrade.

Those who sell similar performing hardware now after seeing all the leaks are fully responsible :p

Do you guys think this would be an "upgrade" from what I've got currently. Selling this one, I'd just add a couple tens of dollars more if needed. But, would it be worth it?

Asking cuz i've not been keeping up a lot with these shenanigans. All I know is that:

    1) Around 200USD
    2) Around, if not better than, a GTX 980
    3) GTX 980 > R9 380

    Indeed, but not wholly unexpected.

Also the 470 is Polaris 10, so either they bin 3 times or rx480 is the full die.

What did you expect for a 200-300$ card? 8 or 9 out of 10?

Lots of people expected it to be better than a 390x. Some people expected it to match a fury x

Unfortunately most people don't care that how it performs relative to hawaii will vary; in raw alu throughput bound scenarios it will underperform Hawaii

In geometry bound scenarios it will be outperform Hawaii

Uhh... Well when I tested it my self my system scored 8.2. So yeah, 6 something is major disappointment since they have compared it to GTX970/980 cards in their PR slides (unless 390 series cards score somewhat poorly in that test). Also I don't think it ends at 10.

In Steam VR test R9 380 scored 3.6 which I would say bit disappointing and this card R9 480 scored 6.3 which is good result,R9 480 is not bad card for money

    Thanks,Jura
