I played deux ex 1, a game released in 2000. on intel HD 4600 last year when I was waiting for a new GPU to arrive and the game was lagging when there was smoke on screen :wanker:

    Those things are terrible.

they have all sorts of "real" custom boards not just a fan so those chips were in aib hands for some months and I think they kept enough for the crappy ref board
the 1080 is still 100 bucks too much I seen a asus srikx with hotwire points no less :) for 630.
I seen a evga 1070 with custom fan $400 which is not bad about 50 too much.
all sold out at most places so they must be getting the high prices they ask, if they are going to get mine it has to be something decent.

honestly if you wait a month or two you'll probably see prices settle and availability will no longer influence pricing, the only reason you should buy now is if you either don't care about the added cost or desperately need a graphics card now

Yeah, exactly the same thing with csgo. HD530 can't handle csgo smoke fx (all gfx lowest settings), fps tanks to under 30's making it totally unplayable even overclocked, otherwise it's ok with upto 120fps+/140fps oc'ed. Lowest I've seen 8800GTX go is high 40's-50's with 2 smokes and even then, standing inside or just besides the smoke fps is still high. 8800GTX gives from 40-230fps+, mostly in the 100's.

    HD530...close, but, no cigar.

In defense of the HD530 though, the 8800GTX consumes four times what the entire CPU does

That was my first high end card i ever bought for 650 euro.

Damn shame i had it for such a little time, i had no knowledge of PC's much back then.

I think later on i upgraded to a 7900GT, it was probably slower then the 8800 GTX?

A lot slower than the 7900GTX, 8800GTX was more than 2x faster. 8800GTX was monstrous at the time, absolutely decimated previous generation

What's funny is I bought my one maybe maximum 6 months after original release and I've kept it in an anti-static bag after GTX470 (on release) upgrade and the temps are exactly like in the original reviews and I've never repasted it or modded it at all. Definitely some quality parts in this card. It's the only card I've kept as a back-up and it still hasn't let me down yet. Still overclockable aswell, same as the original reviews. Impressive old card.

Really hope GTX1070 stands the test of time.

8800GTX was actually famous for failing due to thermals; temperature cycles would make the solder joints expand/contract and eventually crack

    I found a 1070 Founders Edition for 480 euro's, but it's a preorder.

If that price won't go up, i know where i'll buy it from. :)

I'm a little confused about the prices though, i thought the founders editions were going to be more expensive then the ones with custom coolers?

Can't wait to order this puppy, and hope they're in stock somewhere in 2 weeks.

I prefer the Founders Edition, the look of the card would match my rig perfectly.

I will do firestrike, but, I have no interest in overclocking. I've just had a GTX980m running custom bios die on me (no oc) so won't be messing with this system. Can't afford to. Sorry.
