Pretty sure they don't own the theme tune either since that is part of a larger song called Jessica by The Allman Brothers, the actual song is 7 odd minutes long, the bit they use in the Top gear Theme tune is a tiny fraction of a song owned by someone else.
I think you know I was speaking figuratively. Moving on...I think the BBC will no doubt give the new presenter job to someone just as annoying as Clarkson, if not more so.
No one else can use it for the opening of their theme tune to their motoring teevee show or likewise, or they will face prosecution of 'IP likeness' by proxy. One may use it ironically to create a one-off spoof, or for charity, but not as a long running trademarked show for which revenue would be generated. And, just as a side comment, I think I own the original LP somewhere...I'll see if I can dig it out - but yes, it's a very long track.
possible bullshot source Transportation Entertainment Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson Jeremy Clarkson confirms he will host a new car show and will be joined by former 'Top Gear' mates http://uk.businessinsider.com/jerem...r-show-with-former-top-gear-mates-2015-6?r=US
What's even more interesting in this whole saga is that the BBC apparently approached Clarkson and offered to re hire him for Top Gear but he refused. Of course this was before they announced that Captain America would be hosting the show.
Final episodes is up http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05n7bnw/top-gear-series-22-episode-8 Cobbled together from the last 3 episodes non studio stuff, so no reviews or guests or news from the sounds of it.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...r-Gear-host-planning-make-new-series-ITV.html Itv TBH ffs I'm sick of all that bs editing a car bs a train to somewhere and the rest of the crap, hope it's refreshing and not the same old crap with adverts.
This was a great episode. It was a proper send-off as it focused entirely on the 3 hosts doing silly car shenanigans. Hope they land elsewhere and soon.
So folks, time to update the name of this thread. Yup the guys have got a new name for their Amazon show. 'The Grand Tour' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-36267294 So, yeah different, it's a name, literally that's all I got to say on the name of the show though the show it's self is being plugged officially for Autumn this year.
Maybe you should start a new thread seeing as 'Top Gear' will return on the BBC, even if it is in a new format
A little premature to start a Grand Tour thread, though...did anyone start a F1 2016 thread, for that matter...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mj59/broadcasts/upcoming Trailer looks like they've watched everything the 3 stooges did, and just done it again Racing fighter jets etc
Lol anyone see what they have done with the Star in a reasonably priced car? Seems it has now been changed to a Star in the Rally Cross Car. Here's hoping The Grand Tour just does away with what was and will no doubt continue to be the weakest part of the entire show... well apart from that time Michael Schumacher was on it.
