Check out the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Superclocked Edition card with ACX 3.0 cooling. In early testing the card was relatively silent – even under load. Under load the GPU temperature hovering in the high 70’C ~ 80’C range. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-ftw-and-superclocked-photos.html
Fugly. Hope they perform better than their looks. Edit: I do like the rounded rectangular nameplate tho.
I'm not a big fan of this new design overall (kind of industrial(?) looking) but from the side, I have to admit it looks pretty great. I like that it comes with a backplate. I'm absolutely loving the nameplate. Getting a 1080 and this could be a candidate.
Looks like the SC has one 8pin, FTW has two 8pins. @Hilbert any chance on reviewing EVGA products this time around or are they still salty over the PX v AB article?
Ruh Roh Shaggy...... Just what I've been waiting to see on these cards.... Connections for more POWAH!!! Now I just have to see what people are doing with the these things to make sure I want some.
Interesting fan setup, inverted blades? Surely that's going to impact cooling unless it pulling air in through the card and out?
Waiting for a Hydro version from EVGA or Gigabyte..1070 or 1080 Liking the look of all of them so far. Hot Rod : Upgrade is near.. Kup : How do you know? Hot Rod : I just have this feeling. :nerd:
Difference in power phases of Evga cards: So other than FTW and classic, all have same as reference 5+1 power phases.
Oh, wow. I was expecting the same old ACX design. I wonder if all the AXC 3.0 cards (1070/60 ect) will look like this. Or if it's just a 'larger' 1080 version. I'm not against it or anything, but I did prefer the solid smooth look of 2.0/1.0. That said, if it works as well as the other designs I don't really care. I do really like how it looks from the side though, that's pretty slick.
Interested in this card, however does anyone know if its likely that a full cover waterblock will be made for it? As the PCB won't be a reference design will it!?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22ePLtROm6I SC and below in that comparison chart up there will be completly reference PCB. That said, the cooler does wonders if that video is any indication. A 2GHZ+ overclock while staying well below the thermal throttle threshold, using only the default fan speeds.
