The DX12 benchmark is using another scene entirely, appears this scene is much less intensive than the dx11 one. Most of the performance gain is from lifting cpu bottlenecks, I wish they included gpu usage as well as framerate
I know that... What I meant was, what was the information we were supposed to gain about the 1080 from this other than the odd results?
From what I'm reading around the interwebs, it's popular for those with under a 980Ti. From the Ti crowd it's just above a *meh*.
Depends where the bottleneck lands, the Fury X has ridiculous amounts of raw compute on tap, if that's the major determining factor in performance I'd be surprised if the 1080 has a 10% lead. Interestingly the gap between them widens at 4k compared to 1440p, it's usually the opposite with fury X
Have you guys seen Hilber'st preview of the new Afterburner with a GTX 1080 on YouTube? Pretty cool!
here is the link if they have not. ok grasshoppers are we ready? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2g7DJ4S-2s
That temperature tho dam, and thats on a single card. Blower design, imagine these 2 in sli with that temp :eek3:
Allright, let the buying begin! MSI cretins - They're much more expensive with their Gaming card than others, wtf?
I've personally had experience with several gigabyte windforce cards, they're very silent at moderate fan speeds, loud as hell at max fan, but they sure keep everything nice and cool I don't break 70c when OC'd usually, now I changed paste I haven't seen it go above 65. Fan maxes out at 70% at those temps, custom fan curve
Msi is getting intersting ones http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/ms...and_aero_geforce_gtx_1080_graphics_cards.html 8+6 pin
