Yep it's pretty much the same FPS i get with my 980Ti at same settings with the new drivers. Everything runs ultra smooth and i'm loving it.

Anyone tested in compute shaders on and off ?

    What a ****ing awesome game!!!!

I have been waiting for a new DOOM since 2004 and this has delivered exactly what I wanted!!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with this game!!! Getting around 120-160fps @ 1080p Ultra Nightmare settings too with TSSAA8X and I even have motion blur set to Ultra too when I normally turn it off but in this game they seem to have done it right.

Just done the Foundary level!!! OMFG what a great level too. The layout and design is spot on. Nice to see exploration coming back in a massive way. Tons of hidden items, lots of secret passages and shortcuts. The guns are great to use, and nice to have the option to upgrade the guns too and I love how you can instantly switch between upgrade mods on the fly that is really cool.

The graphics are awesome, the enemies look great and their movement is excellent they climb walls, jump around cover, try and flank you. Its all just perfect.

I am playing on "hurt me plenty" so one below nightmare and its been pretty challenging so far but nothing majorly hard.

So whats with the 5gb vram requirement ? When switching to nightmare quality, it barely uses 4gb on my card, 1080p. And yes i've restarted the game.

Stock clocks 1329/3500 and 4.5GHz on the CPU.

    The game is buttery smooth.

I have tried overclocking this card but no settings I try are stable and it gives me artifacts after time.

I aint complaining though as the performance is perfect.

Doesn't look very good. 65-70fps is not what I'd call optimal for a 980Ti.

Interesting how you can get up tp 160fps @ 1080p with 8xAA when the link above is hovering around 70fps @ 1440p with only 1xAA.

I don't know what's optimal for a Ti until there are benchmarks, but it seem to run very well considering it's a reference Ti; 1200mhz

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but compute shaders are small programs that run on the GPU shaders outside of the normal rendering process that help to accelerate the overall rendering. For example, compute shaders could accelerate the rendering of ambient occlusion, or help with physics calculations, screen space reflections and or volumetric lighting.

Main distinction is a compute shader will not have access to geometry units, which is why it is put in compute queue and not graphics. Graphics and compute engines are identical except for the latter not being able to address geometry front-end

I suppose for 60Hz users it's fine but not us 144Hz monitor owners :) I'll see what I can do when I get home.
