If you live in Europa you should expect a whooping price raise of 150€ (170$) placing the founder's 1080 at same price tag of 980ti.
    My opinion: :finger2:

Why would anyone buy a stock card over AIB one if it costs 100$ more?

It used to be for the ease of water cooling. Most blocks were designed for reference boards. These days I haven't got a clue. With EK expanding their operation to include a selection of AIB cards, no one in their right mind should.

So they are claiming a retail price of $600 but they are really launching a $700 card?

My previous videocard was 780 with reference design and vapor chamber. My current card is 970 with reference design but without vapor chamber, and it produces much more noise (and pretty annoying one). I wish I knew about that detail before the purchase.
I will nether buy videocard with non-blower cooler design. Other parts inside do not need additional warm air.

Yeah, part of my thinking too. Blowing air directly out has advantages.

I get that but, at $100 more I think water starts looking tempting even if someone would prefer an air build.

what is weird is that the GTX780 and the R9 290 is not included in those benchmarks. This is where you can see the biggest differences in performance. have been noticed. I mentioned that R9 290 is knocking at the door of the 980, but they won't bench them? why?

At first I was mildly interested in the "Founder's Edition", thinking that it was binned for OC enthusiasts. Now I am wondering where the heck the 2100 mhz clocks came from?
