Was playing this morning, game kind of... freaked out on me. :p
Had been playing for probably an hour. Got a new mission, started it... and right when I entered a vent... the game's colors and brightness went a bit... nutters.

The game got overly bright, and the textures appeared as random colors.
Checked the beta forums, seems other people had the same problems after playing for long periods of time, or after starting a specific mission.

Game looks great with a slight DSR: in-game AA doesn't do the job at all tbh.

But trying higher resolution highlight the memory leak easy and create stutter, at least for me !

You don't have to use DSR with Frostbite games, you can add "render.ResolutionScale" to your settings and set a custom value. Not sure if it will net you better or worse performance.

I love the resolution option of Frostbite and actually find out recently (3/4weeks) that using DSR on equivalent resolution gave better results. Of course it takes a bit more performance, and can't be adjusted as precisely as Resolution, but i like the result.

Game runs way better without DSR, some fast running, trying to stay away from the red mark :p (1440p raw footage):

I've freeze during animations (literrally 0.5sec freeze) like sliding under something. And cutscene break v-sync alltogether, turning it on/off. I also have drops from 60+ to 25/30.

I should do further testing to check if it's v-sync related or memory leak related. But as for the cutscene, they break v-sync and g-sync.

Yeah, every pre-rendered cutscene will break vsync, you have to restart to get it back.

Another helpful tip for you guys, whenever you're trying to optimize your settings on a Frostbite 3 game, add "perfOverlay.Drawgraph" to see your CPU and GPU frametimes with a graph. I usually lock to a specific framerate with something like "gametime.maxvariablefps 60", which locks the CPU to 60fps, or a 16.6ms frametime, then I try to get my GPU frametime as close to 16.6ms without going over. This way I can keep a smooth 60fps with best possible visuals.

That makes sense when i first started the game it was smooth as silk, the next day i played it, it was studdering with my same settings. Makes perfect sense then.

Well, vsync seemed to work for me today, there was a patch so it might have been that (or forcing it in nvidia control panel worked)

But the game did stutter, it has frame pacing issues for sure.

Completed the beta demo though, decent game, not revolutionary. I'm not sure it benefits from being open world instead of a focused linear campaign.

Have DICE made any comments about the beta since it started?
Anything to indicate changes that might be in the final release... keyboard remapping?

    Seems they've been pretty quiet.

? What About The Music ?

    Hello guys :

I have an important question for you guys which will determine if I pre-order this game and pay the overprice demanded for it:

?Is the music similar to the first game!?

I'm NOT talking about the theme song:
I'm not asking if you like the music or if it was better than the first game, but if it has similar mood inducing sounds and instruments?!

In the first game, during an attack, the music was intense and had a lot of percussions, but in calm phases: The music was more like a background humming (Pads and strings) and I did LIKE IT A LOT!!!!! GAME OF THE YEAR for me!!

P.s. On every stage in ME1, I was just staring at the surrounding buildings with their crane and chimneys while listening to that 'humming' of a music and was enjoying it to the max!

Only question I care about, one I can not find an answer to anywhere.

Will the full game have remappable controls?
The beta did not. Which completely killed the fun of playing it.

i find it a bit difficult yes with how controls are set up, to jump and or to slide jump etc... this definitely needs a remap
