I've been running july 2015 drivers for ages now.
Basically any driver package where they changed the CCC program to the new one, after a few minutes of playing a game my pc will freeze.

Is there something it doesn't like about the new control panel and it's drivers?

    I have a 4670k i5, 8 gigs of ram and a gigabyte 7850 amd.

    Thanks.

In such case i would give a go to DDU because crimson drivers should be working fine on your gpu.

Uninstall driver, use DDU to remove leftovers, install 16.4.1 or vulkan beta driver.

My fix was lower my clocks from 1050/1450MHz to 875/1300MHz. Now even Battlefield 4 dont crash.

How do people not think to use DDU when they have GPU driver issues. I mean seriously... it's the definition of "no brainer".

Just use it to uninstall every time you upgrade. Prevent problems in the first place.

Note: Clean Nvidia and Intel sections as well even if you don't have them currently installed. I've had uninstalled AMD drivers screw up my Nvidia install and visa versa.

Run all three just to be safe really. There's no reason not to.

Using DDU on EVERY driver update is a bit of exaggeration and DDU is not a tool to replace regular uninstallers provided by driver developers, it should be used only in cases like this. Using it without real need may cause more problems than fix.

It may be exaggeration but it's also not wrong to use DDU before every driver you install. And saying it may cause more problems than fix is wrong. 100% driver removal always is better than leaving some zombie files.
Maybe it isn't needed in 80% of cases to use DDU. But using it nonetheless is - as cookieboy said - never wrong.

DDU is good but doesn't always fix everything. It hasn't fixed my GPU downclocking issues ...

    lol...

no, of course it doent fix everyithing..

like hardware bugs, or driver bugs...

Downclocking is a known driver (or cooling) issue...

You need to talk to AMD about that mate.

DDU is a 3rd party tool not provided by AMD

I also use it on every driver update, I think it better that way

Maybe the new crimson enter in conflict with something else (AV,another resident program which run in background, ransom malware).Maybe you need to clean up your windows registry or scan your system.
There are many posibilities,no one will know(even Amd) whats in your system if he crash(freeze) with every driver.

Every PC game system is different from user to user, from problem to problem.Thats why they make consoles to not have such problems in the future games. :D

Cleaning out driver with tools like DDU has giving me more problems over the last 10 or so years then just installing over the driver I already have installed. Tools like DDU I only use if normal install goes bad, and then I mostly just do a reinstall of windows *like ever 1-2 years*
