I'm not saying there are not problems with this game in some setup, you and many more with enough GPU power have them.

What i say is Steam forums are not a good place to check for modern PC gaming computer problems % or amount of affected in this game.(or others...)

IMHO in here the GPUs level and the average common sense are way higher. :)

Pretty steady 60fps here on 1080p with all settings on High, except DoF & Motion Blur turned off.

Radeonpro settings don't work. AMD Crimson/Catalyst settings don't even work. The only thing left is the RTSS frame limiter which is choppy for 30 fps limit.

the game looks like an upscaled ps2 game and runs like trash.

the good thing: i got my money back from steam.

    or

both are recording programs that include very easy to use and reliable FPS limit controls. both are very small and also have a low memory footprint. it doesnt matter / make a big difference which one you use.

    ??? Mostly GPU bound???
When i reached lothric and saw the fist enemies, my MSI Afterburner suddenly showed my gpu usage gone from 100% to 80% sometimes even worse, my CPU Usage gone from 50/60% to simply 80/90%.

You can say that your CPU is clocked to 4.4GHZ, but the first bulldozer series are well known to be so much weaker in IPC comparing to the ancient Phenom II series. Obviously with that clock and cores you are probably better, but still, 99% of the games with exception to Cryengine 3 based games preffer IPC over more cores.

This is exactly the same story as the jump from a Haswell to a skylake, haswell at 4.7 getting beat up by a skylake at 4.0GHZ for example.

Can you please run the Single core benchmark on the cinebench R15?

Let's hope he didn't get 30 FPS in the tutorial area :D.

Why do you laugh? Your Vishera core have what, like 15% higher ipc then his Bulldozer core. Luckily your overclock makes a difference.

I have no clue why do you even try to run a single threaded game with an fx cpu. You should look for games those are using at very least 4 of your cores. Or you can try older single threaded games.

For anyone like me with variable framerate, 50-60fps, i resolved creating a custom resolution of 1920x1076 @50hz, then in the game i selected that resolution. DS3 now forces the refresh rate to 50hz and i have 50 fps stable like i had 60fps / 60hz. Unfortunately i can't mantain stable 60 fps even on lowest settings, the game needs a patch.

DigitalFoundry tested R9 380 and gtx960 with 6700k, none of them could keep 60fps. On the other hand, 390 and 970 ware capable running 60fps/1080p no problem.

Because, if he's got 30FPS in the tutorial area, he's gonna get 20FPS at Lothric's wall and will sound even happier here.
I know about my CPU. Still, that ~15% difference makes wonders in games compared to my previous Zambezi @4.8ghz.

Yes, exactly. But 50fps/50hz are almost equals to 60fps/60hz, so i'm fine with it :)

He got 30FPS on the Cemetery of ash?
Well in that case, things are barely wrong.
Still the game is not completely single threaded, it preffers single core performance over more cores, but do use 4 cores here very well to a point where the CPU Usage was 90% peak.

On my laptop, my i5-4200u which are 2 cores and 4 threads, and even the threads got used on the first enemies on Lothric to its max, i even saw 100% of CPU usage, and that can be viewed on my video of the laptop XD.

Just because the game preffer IPC doesn't mean it didn't use properly the other cores/threads :D

Still i hope he runs the cinebench, i am very curious to see what Single core performance the FX-8150 have with 4.4GHZ :D

EDIT: BTW i just did a new experiment, i decided to put the game at 720P at low settings :)
    It was funny ^^
33-50FPS on Lothric with GPU Usage hovering around 30-45% :)
    Purrrrrrfect.
    Can't imagine a lower IPC CPU :D

Ill see how many cores are being used, but I get 20% CPU usage.

Doing pretty well in most areas I've explored, framerate has kept to 59 - 60 most of the time besides a certain swamp/forest location which saw a drop to around 50 for well whatever reason that might be, apparently a later area is even worse from what I've read but I'll see when I get there.
(Also I disabled whatever AA they're using in favor of custom SMAA via ReShade, 16x AF is also enforced as usual because eff blurry ground textures ha ha.)

2560x1440, VSR to 3840x2160 isn't playable though, lots of stuttering and most areas run at sub-30's framerate once you get some enemies on-screen.
(Haven't tried 3200x1800, 1.25x 2560x1440 doesn't seem like it would make any major difference with downsampling, 1.5x 3840x2160 is OK though a full 2x at 5120x2880 would be ideal although this GPU wouldn't be able to drive that at playable framerates in the majority of the newer games available and there's the thing with VSR limiting "even" GCN-1.2 GPU's to a max of 3840x2160 or 3840x2400 depending on if it's a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio.)

Game itself is stable and no major glitches, controls bug out occasionally and movement gets stuck in a direction until that movement key is pressed again but that's nothing to do with the GPU.

There's a upcoming patch going through Q&A from what I can see in the SteamDB depot changes so it'll be interesting to see what that might change. :)
