PC Gamer just did a cover story on this. I still can't get excited for it. Just... interest for it is not there.
^ yea got too say i am not a fan of the gfx especially after star citizen, plus like ed that has a super massive universe, seems NMS is doing the same thing just with pg animals and etc. At some point the PG will run out 100 planets 500 and you have seen every variant of every animal etc. Then what? will there be honest to god intelliegent alien life with cities space stations etc. Plus as ED proved with a super sized universe you need a massive number of people playing to make the universe not empty lonely and boring. So sticking with my scaled down space game that will have PG but alot of designed content also, sofar PG has not shown an ability to generate interesting content just content. A designers hand to do points of interest, ship wrecks, bases, alien temples, tombs, hidden bunkers and so on. While the animal tech looks neat but reminds me of spore. Spore had a large universe ton of variety in the critters but the space stage got boring after awhile nm the variety in species. And the color pallet and lighting look hideous.
Yeah, luckily I never fancied collector's editions, it's ridiculous what they charge for those at times.
It looks like space sim version of ARMA or GTA but there is nothing in it about base or city building when you have found a planet. Its just flying around and exploring so far... If it had parts of Eve or some way to occupy and own a planet then it can be interesting. Also other intelligent space fairing species would be great.
Yesterday I found myself wondering the same too: is it only exploring? I mean, that can be great, but if the main thing is to go there, run around, and at the first sight of trouble you'll have to flee, then... it won't be motivating for long I'm afraid.
agree, i still stand by the idea of that the trailers doesn t show the actual gameplay, but if it was only about exploring it will certainly get dull very quickly yes..
really nice vid, i like what i am seeing but i dont want to see and get spoilers anymore from this game, i want to wait til its here and then enjoy it how it is.
Not sure if anybody came across this already, but I'll have a read through it. Basically what's happening / possible to do in No Man's Sky. Sorry if it's bs: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyT...do_you_do_in_no_mans_sky_and_other_questions/
Eh. Looks okay, can't say I'm overly impressed by this game overall. I can't not compare it to ED and SC, which both have this game beat graphically by light years. I can see the appeal though.. hope that it does well, as the space sim genre could use all the great titles it can get.
I don't know... I feel like visual immersion isn't the real deal with this game. It does have lot's of visual identity ...
Of course Star Citizen has amazing graphics, it has more of that.... how would you call it, kind of Alien / Starship Troopers type sci-fi look? with No Man's Sky kind of like those retro sci-fi book's... the super colorful ones. From a gameplay perspective can we compare this to Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen? I mean, those are Multiplayer focused games.. No Man's Sky is a singleplayer focused exploration survival game, with a tiny chance of meeting a real human player. We could compare it to Minecraft I guess *shrugs*
