Nvidia GeForce 364.51 beta WHQL driver download & discussion

What the ****, this driver is awful. Keep getting solid colour nvidia crashes and driver has stopped responding messages.

Goddamnit.

 

Had a SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED BSOD with ROTTR and those drivers. DX12 is not enabled.

SLI 2x Asus Strix 970, Asus Maximus VII Hero, 16 GB RAM, latest (iRST, Nvidia, Chipset) drivers.

Got a SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED blue screen involving the dxgmms2.sys. Bug Check : 0x1000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff801ab761f64, 0xffffd0005fc9f648, 0xffffd0005fc9ee60). Im getting display driver crashes with ROTTR. with dx12 enable and disabled....

it sometimes instantly crashes when starting the game launcher.

sometimes it will bring up the launcher and other times nothing happens.

event viewer shows the cause was the display driver.


also dx 12 performance is 10fps slower compared to dx 11

DX12 and D3D12 are different things. If they say they support DX12 and the Win10 desktop is using DX12 2d calls then they aren't lying, are they?

Good luck getting hardware accelerated D3D12 on a processor that came out in 2010, lol.

There's nothing lolworthy about that.

Nvidia promised DX12 support already once it was officially revealed back in 2014. That's why people are disappointed it's still not here and are getting irritated at Nvidia's silence.

 

Wonder if Nvidia just said that to sell more cards?

 

NVIDIA has promise DirectX12 wddm 2.0 driver for fermi,and now keeps silent about driver release date.NVidia has give wddm 2.0 driver but without dx12..I know that nvidia want us to upgrade,but it is unetical to decieve users. These cards can run games we have basic directx 12 hardware support,give us driver already. Very dissapointed with nvidia support for 400 and 500 series,i will never buy your gpu again. NVidia also refuse to give Vulkan support too

Aside from low-end parts, Fermi was already replaced back when DX12 was revealed.

If Nvidia's intention is to get Fermi users to suddenly upgrade by not providing DX12 support, I'd expect their reaction to just get an AMD card instead next.

One might argue that not providing Vulkan support is a bad move as well, but at least Vulkan wasn't promised two years in advance

 

So this driver and the original v364.47 WHQL release are supposed to be "game-ready" for Hitman are they then, NIVIDIA? Well did you bother to test DX12 at all because if you did then you'd have discovered that it will freeze during one of the damn tutorials?!?

Sometimes I honestly wonder if anyone ever tests anything before release or whether I (and everyone else) aren't just paying beta testers!

 

I would understand to exclude vulkan they will probably never give us,but dx12 is promised as soon first games come to market..we have dx12 games already but driver is not available..gtx 400 and 500 users can play games dx12 at low settings and lower resolutions..not everyone can afford latest and greatest,,nvidia silence is very dissapointing :3eyes:

 

Vulkan 1.0.6 is out, 364.51 installed 1.0.3 Any word on how nvidia would handle the updates? (latest dev drivers install only 1.0.4 so...)

 

I saw a extra 1.0.3 installer maybe we just update that?

Speaking of Vulcan, I just tried this chopper demo and what's funny it can hammer 1 thread to the max, I thought Vulcan is highly multi core aware?

Also if I disable vsync there seems to be 1 chopper in the middle of the screen floating time to time in a unusual position..

How is this driver working with clean installs on Windows 10?

 

Not so great, driver not responding errors on a lot of 970 users. A few people getting crashes with dual monitors where the monitors will only display a solid colour and then the PC restarts.

 

This drivers work great for me, and (as far) no crashes.
Witcher 3 on my 980 SLI spread the wings now - in 4K chroma 4:4:4 utilize both GPU's nice.
Other games works nice too, but i will continue testing it..

I'm still using the previous driver 364.47 without any issues. Played many games and they're perfect so I guess this are the same. Windows 10 gtx 970

 

Driver seems to work well so far on my setup
