Wording is weird I don't know if they are actually using it in PC version or are they just 'excited' about it as a DX12 feature.

    i7 3770k @ 4.5, 16GB 1600,amd fury 3840 @1120/560, the game is installed on HDD

1920x1080, Very High Preset (HBAO+ OFF)

There was some stuttering here and there at exactly the same time. affecting min fps.

Sometimes max fps was noticeably higher (~80+ fps , Syria)

I had been reading on steam forums, and judging for all information there.
All nvidia users had increase in performance, and all AMD users have worse performance compared to DX11 and additional much more sttutering.

Maybe AMD needs new drivers for this or either nvidia found a way to make nixxes to only work on DX12 decently for nvidia XD

DX12 Gimpworks Edition. No surprise here.

It has always been like this. I mean if we compare Gimpworks titles (100% mediocre performance on amd and even nvidia cards(keplers)) and AMD GE titles.(99% good performance on nvidia cards) lol

I guess its not like that :)
The funny thing is Windows Store version of the game don't have Gameworks, cause nvidia can't implement it.
Its funny how UWP apps are so close that nvidia can't put there their stuff incluinding gameworks.

Still i think that AMD needs drivers and nixxes need more work on the DX12 patch.
There is no SLI or CF working on DX12 oppose to what happens on DX11, not even the VXAO works on DX12.

So if i had to make a bet, DX12 version of the game is more like in an alpha state only working decently for nvidia users.

CrossFire is a no go. Doesn't work in DX12.

Somehow the game seems to look better though. Don't know if it's just my imagination.

And wow, the game loads ultra fast now.

No SLI/CF and VXAO working under DX12 yet.
    Its pretty much all WIP.

I would love to see results comparing DX11 to DX12 here, since the game features now a benchmark, and that includes teh GEO-Thermal zone which people love so much :p

steamcommunity's comments are worth to read. here some important :
"Seems slower here too, but not always...
something is wrong, not sure if my system, drivers or the game.
But first play with DX12:performance was a little better than DX1 (from 55fps to 62/68)
Tryed DX11 again and then turned DX12 for a second time: it was way worse! (50 fps!)
    Nvidia 980ti.
Not sure why... gotta try again some time later"

"Ran the benchmark with the high preset at 1080p.
    DX11: 52.22 fps
    DX12: 44.57 fps
    i5-4690, R9 380 4GB
    Not looking good..."

"Getting worst perfromance here on a Geforce 970 max settings.
    Directx 11 : 75 fps average.
    Directx 12 : 60 fps average."

"DX12 requires explicit game support for SLI or Crossfire which is not currently enabled. To use multiple GPUs you will have to use DX11 right now. As we mentioned we will continue to look at further enhancements in potential future patches."

Wow, what a patch. I might not have CrossFire in DX12, but at least the game crashes none stop in DX 11 mode now. I'm very happy :D

even though FPS is lower, people are reporting dx12 is much smoother than dx11

Awesome :) Have you tried reverting back?

"While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build 629.1, that can be used to switch back to the previous version."

I honestly have no interest in this game anymore. I played it twice and it was fun, but i already moved on. However, it's still interesting to see if DX12 improved the performance. Which obviously didn't happen.

If you go to the game settings in steam and look at the beta tab. You can sign up for one of the beta. Basically you are simply signing up for early versions of the game. It will start to revert the game back to an earlier states right away. A very need feature.

Maybe they did it the same way that The talos Principle dev team done with vulkan.

They put a wrapper and done, DX11 getting better performance than on vulkan LOL.

But they already communicate that was only the first step, and that they are starting to migrate most of it (Talos Principle).

About ROTTT i would love to read the same thing.

What's the point of implementing it then?
