I can confirm that this happens as it does reset after restart for me now aswell.(VSR and Video settings)
It's happening on 16.2.1 as before i switched to this one i did not have this problem.

So I guess its a driver issue then.

Can you try to use DDU again and install 16.1.1
I would like to rule out the possibility that DDU could have caused this.

done, and i can confirm what i said, using DDU + installing Crimson 16.1.1/16.2/16.2.1 make necessary to enable vsr at each reboot, at least on my rig (Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Sapphire R9 270X)

Thanks, I will do some testing on my end to see if this is because the driver is missing to create its entry or if its DDU stuff.

That's odd... I always used DDU (specially to get rid of overdrive when it was more broken than it is now) and VSR always sticked through each reboot.

I can confirm its a driver issue and here is how you can workaround it.

1- Open the AMD settings app.
    2- Select Display.
3- While VSR is OFF, click on the Additional Settings (top right)
Note , this will open like the old CCC and will generate some missing keys for the drivers that were not created when installed
    4- Reboot
    5- Enable VSR
    6- Reboot and enjoy.

In conclusion, it's as everyone said, it is a left over entry from another driver that is being used in recent crimson one that make you think that without DDU it doesn't happen.

For some reason, on fresh install and depending of system configurations, a specific key is not created by default unless doing the steps above.
DDU is only revealing a driver issue and is not actually causing it.

I used to use DDU almost ever time. Not to bash DDU cause i think it does exactly what its intended to do....the question is more when its appropriate to use it. For the first time ever i actually started upgrading drivers (by just installing new driver) and the benefit of this it keeps the newer parts of the driver. In other words if the driver im installing has an older direct 3d version it will keep the newer version instead...or at least im told.

i guess what im saying is ddu was never intended to be used every single time as i was before? More really intended to be used when troubleshooting...more as an as needed bases? like major driver revision changes? Am i correct?

DDU is a tool to be used when needed.
If its not broke than don't fix it :)

Note: I am personally not following this rule. I do use it every time but its my choice and its for testing purpose for you guys too.

I actually dont know where I should put my question.

Installed the newest AMD driver and when i tried to enter the Radeon Settings I get this error message.
Radeon settings: Host application has stopped working

    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: cnext.exe
    Application Version: 10.1.1.1522
    Application Timestamp: 5661c9e1
    Fault Module Name: MSVCR120.dll

The rest is not important I think, but its as .dll and its next.exe that fails and gives error message and keeps me from checking out radeon settings.

Does the 15.7.1 driver work better?

This will sound weird...but do a full uninstall then clean with ddu....then install the vulcan driver then immediately install the 16.2.1 over it as an upgrade....you be good to go after that:)

Although i can install drivers from the windows update but that aint up to date drivers.

    What did i do wrong?

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V15.7.5.0 Released.

-AMD Vulkan driver files removal. (this will not remove the Vulkan Runtime)
-Changed starting Messagebox to Form, works like a splash screen. (Thanks to usermltk)
-Added option reboot to Safe Mode with Networking on above mentioned form. (Thanks to usermltk)
-Network check before requesting version. Not waiting timeout from requesting version if no networks available. (eg. Safe Mode) (Thanks to usermltk)

    Known Issues:
-There may be an error message about a missing file on startup for the first time.
-The new form on startup is not translatable yet.

    SHA1: BEE787BC84D45CBCD9C6686ECC0DE0723B384626

    Recommended usage:
The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best.
Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe).
