Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a DX12 disaster for AMD (?!)

?

Do you believe that AMD will fix its performance issues? Do you still trust them?

  1. Yes. Completely.

  2. No. And I'm planning to buy an NVIDIA GPU later this year.

  3. No. But I'm staying with my current AMD card for now...I still have some hope left.

According to Jason Evangelho of Forbes...

And I just thinking to buy it to refresh my old memories of playing this game all those years ago...

Do we have to worry about future dx12 titles as well?! @AMDMatt? :p

I wouldn't even blame AMD when you know the devs didn't even do any QA on AMD hardware...

So where is the option "It's Microsoft fault because they didn't even bother to QA on AMD Hardware" ?

Well from what I saw in the past AMD always had some trouble with U3E and its streaming mechanism, it was also a disaster on nvidia and a lot, mostly HW physx games.

And who made the drivers for AMD gpu's? With game specific optimizations and such? :p

Is this thread a joke? The article you link doesn't even have proper benchmarks in it. Does any person in this forum actually has the game? Do you?

Since when have we needed a new driver for every new game with single gpu configurations?

And lets mix in multi-gpu... We have a perfect example as well. Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn't support multi-gpu if you bought the windows store version but the steam version has good multi-gpu support after driver update. So is that AMD's fault as well?

My first prediction is that there's going to be a patch for the game which fixes AMD problems , and AMD doesn't have to do a thing.

My second prediction is that this thread will get locked pretty soon.

@PrMinisterGR, I'm not saying anything specific about AMD performance in dx12 titles. I'm looking for info and asking. That's why I put a question mark after thread name ;)

As for proper benches...I'm not sure we will see a huge difference when they come out. Those videos will suffice till then...

This is a poll with fairly dramatic options, and all for a game with no proper benchmarks out, and what looks to be a sh*tty port.

And I thought the whole "AMD VS Nvidia" thing about drivers optimization and performance issues are still in holy war phase? No? We won? :D ...i was kinda off the planet since new year party :D

If you look at recent games, with the likes of far cry primal, hitman, doom 4 alpha, Battlefront 3, the division, rainbow six siege, you will notice by how much amd actually leads. Games like mad max, just cause 3, also show that the amd gpu is as powerful. Few crappy games, don't mean much, specially ones that are just getting reskins. Unability to code on the developers side, doesn't mean faulty hardware or driver from vendors side. Also games that were from the get go designed to run on a specific hardware, will run better on it than any other. Think project cars, witcher 3, Assassins creed series, etc. This game, batman ak, rise of tomb raider are pretty much a joke, for few reasons, focused more on anti piracy, and forgot about proper coding, think the game should sell anyways since no foreseeable crack in future.

i have the game and been playing it or trying to play it on windows 10 store ect ect

on my graphics card the game is virtually unplayable due to the massive amounts of stuttering that never seems to stop.

Seems like a really tough year again for amd but not exclusive to AMD.

I'd just wish game developers got their **** together.

Devs need to step up their game. That is pretty much all there is to it. And publishers need to give a tad longer time to dev the games.
