Well, there are registry fixes for a games (DeusEx:HR for example) which improve the gameplay drastically. These fixes take effect for the process itself. In case of kernel/DX drivers any registry value can change so many and so deep things...

Overall Windiows` registry contains so many values for a kernel level components.

Anyone tried this with Diablo 3? Solo roaming isn't bad but coop is really stuttery.

with witch doctor? there's a known issue with some class/build combo animations

Diablo 3 is lost cause regarding stuttering. I had stuttering in that game since it launched, now 3 GPUs and 1 full new build later I still have stuttering on a rig which could run 10 simultaneous copies of D3 at the same time.

Stuttering happens in all Blizzard games to a degree.

Diablo 3: stutters periodically specially when opening menus or using abilities
WoW: has frametime spikes every 5 secs or so that can cause stuttering
SC2: stutters during big battles or heavy mouse activity
    HOTS: stutters like crazy randomly

The only game that is near stutter free is HS but thats because how simple the game actually is.

I think that it has something to do with Blizzard's battle.net launcher, and the Agent.exe that is always running.

Also, don't ever bother complaining about stutter on their forums, they'll just ask for a dxdiag and then ignore your thread or just ignore you to begin with.

In the D3 forum there was a 30+ page thread about it that went on for over 2 years, no blue reply.

Then, as you suggest, FCAT comparisons should be made to show improvements. Given the history of the author, with the demonstrably false claims that were made regarding G-Sync, that should be the bare minimum. What is your experience in developing drivers?

to be fair im not defending nabil 100%, and THERE is some benefits from his tweaks. as i said not everyone will benefit or get the same result. its something each person got to test

i DO know that disabling the powersave and power usage limits on nvidia cards help stability and improve performance. i disabled this doing a custom bios for my cards and this is also backed by kingpin on his forum

also i said that he exagerates on nvidia "evil ways" paranodia

claiming its "all" lies its pretty near sighted and show your lack of expertize i DO know that his DSR patch tool worked for my gsync/sli setup, and also KNOW that noone has has figured out how to force gpu emulation passtru other than flashing cards into quadros

You realise that Unwinder is the dev of Afterburner right?

You know, that tool that does work

I'd say that gives him the credentials necessary to call this guy a liar

lol really? good to know to stay away from it :p

but thats a great example, his software works better for some people but the more advanced users know that its better to do it at bios level once you know the max clocks your card can handle

personally his tool has zero benefit for me but since it makes zero difference to me, can i claim afterburner does not work? or is it better to say that it benefits each person differently

Choosing to OC a different way, does not mean the software method (AB) does not work, of course it works, and there is undeniable evidence that it works, like 99% of this forums members and staff for example

Unwinder is the guy behind pretty much almost all the rock solid gpu software out there. I also believe that this NV tools can do some good but you can't compare that reg rack with Afterburner, rivatuner or evga precision the difference is like night and day. Companies like MSI wouldn't hire him for no reason.

You can't compare Unwinder with a paranoid kid that has severe issues, makes big claims but don't want people to inspect his tool without a world of drama. Like any seriousness or relevance in your comments were just blown out of the window.

Whole description of NF tools features is a pure lie. It absolutely doesn't perform even 1% of what Nabil is declaring. It is simply a set of blindly (and randomly!) tweaked NVIDIA debug registry keys, altered by a person without any deep undersranding of driver's internals. Statements telling that he tweaks GPU at low-level is a lie. Statements telling that he override swap chain handling methods at DXGI kernel level is a lie. Statements telling that he unlocks extra cuda cores of 970 is a lie. Statements telling that he is forcing full memory speed for both memory partitions on 970 is a lie. Your statements telling that gsync tool became private because NVIDIA remved his developer license is a laughable lie, he have zero chances to get a license with his current knowledge. NVIDIA is not related to that pooor show at all, Gamenab was shut down becase its author was caught on lie and fake info, so he preferred to hide under the table to save his face somehow.
Your statements telling that NVIDIA can be related to making NF tool private are laughable. Try to google what is NVStrap and SoftQuadro and then please try to explain how could those projects exist for a long time without any pressure from NVIDIA side, and what is so special about Nabil's project so NVIDIA hunting them down constantly. I'd like to see your expert opinion on that subject.

Sorry but you're comparing apples to oranges or just trolling at rather stupid level. I document every singe bit of functionality and don't try to attract noobs with scandal fake features that exist only in my imagination.

    ye ok...
but lets have one more laugh at all those who think that there is a good chance that a random guy who can not write a simple README.TXT
can "unlock G-sync" and can make their GPU work better than the $12B company that built the GPU in the 1st place.

This thread must stay on top for some time for people to know that this tool is a fake. I'd edit the first post and add Unwinder's comments there instead of closing the thread.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same guy who kept making accounts here, and telling everyone that his 15 year old NVIDIA GPU was just as powerful as todays high end GPUs, and he could prove it with a driver hack he'd discovered (Remember all the dai**motion links? )

He was sure he kept getting banned from here by order of NVIDIA, to keep their secrets safe, rather than just because he was a tw4t and spammed the forum with nonsense
