The lack of daily and flash sales really hurts the appeal. While the normal sales are still nice, it was the really discounted daily sales that made these events so awesome. STEAM's decision to not do these was a bad move. Yes, the new refund policy does change things... but does removing those special sales really do anything? People can, and will, still refund games just as they would if those sales were still there.
Because of this exactly I'm not even considering buying anything. I'm sick of idiots changing things when they work and work well. I expected the daily deals and flash sales, votes.... Now that they couldn't be bothered to implement them I'm not going to bother spending a dime.
They did away with the daily/flash sales because of the new refund policy. This way, people can't buy a game on sale. Then see it go on a Flash or Daily sale, refund it and buy it at the cheaper price. Which is kind of stupid. Since it takes a few days before the money is refunded to you.
Seems like Valve giving the refund policy was counterbalanced by them now making 100% zero effort on these sales. Lame. Of course it doesn't help most of us here already own like every game on the service, but still.
Bought ARK and few other small things just out of boredom lol. Servers were so loaded i couldnt take a look at more than 300 of 500 titles i wanted to check. What's the point of having 9000 titles on sale when you can only see 6000 of them? Get more servers Gabe!
Picked up Dying Light from Steam and Transformers Devastation from GMG, don't think I'll get anything else. I kind of like not having to check back every few hours to see if something I want will go on a deeper discount, less time wasted.
Waiting on my refund from Squad, if i get it on time i'll be getting Elite: Dangerous probably. And Borderlands 2 Season pass. EDIT: Oh so all sales end on 4th January? i can wait then.
Since all the sales are till 4th of january. I simply decided to wait and see if I really want something. Instead of just going "it is only today must buy". So from a marketing point of view this change sucks for them. But my wallet loves it. And just include no refund policy for games on sale \o/ that is what I usually see on things that are on sale
I think ill do the same! If you go by retail, you can get "steam" credit instead of full cash refund This sale is crap! Bought W3 now coz im off for few days around xmas so i can play. Not sure what else to hunt for? Maybe Far Cry 4 if its like £10
Picked up Brothers: tale of two sons for about £1.50 - nothing else is really interesting me or I already have it. Assassins Creed Syndicate is still full price @ £49.99 in the 'sale' but GMG have it for £20 and have done for the last few weeks!
If you're in the market for a new SSD, Amazon has the 850evos on sale right now and you get a free copy of Syndicate. Got a new 500GB yesterday and a the free game. Would have never bought it for the current price.
Smart move.Maybe on Christmas 25 december they put some games from 50% to 75% or better. If not then will be another sales next year.
Great looking game and very optimized.. Unfortunately I got pretty tired of it after around 10 hours.
