New pc racing sim: AssettoCorsa

Im liking this dream pack 2, today i raced a group of the newest cars using the nissan Gtr and my spa set up. It was very fast at catyluna gp. Started out getting wrecked and went back to pit for fixes then jumped back in with 10 cars ahead of me . I buckled down and laid down consistent 1:50 laps even got into a 1:49 1 lap. Slowly guys either wrecked out or were passed by me. I ended up winning the race...it was fun. Consistently fast pays dividends...

 

Anyone else got ****e fps on certain tracks after 1.3+? :\

 

Is there some way to configure the clutch slip in this game? It seems to be either on or off with no in-between whatsoever, it's totally ridiculous! Changing down when heading into a corner is something of a gamble as, regardless of how smoothly the clutch is released, the rear wheels will lock up if your revs are even the slightest bit too low - if you shift down part way through a corner and this happens it's like pulling the handbrake up.

Someone please tell me I'm being a derp and there's some config setting I'm missing.

 

My wheel is out of action again, sounds like the fan blades are hitting on something. I swear I spend more time taking the damned thing apart than using it, wish I'd never bought it!

And the answer to the clutch question is no, there is no way to alter it. For what is touted as one of the best simulators out there they somehow forgot that cars have clutches. It's a complete joke, even Test Drive Unlimited had better clutch simulation than this...

I see. Those early models had issues, from what I read on the internet. Since then the quality has gotten up, but so did the prices of the damn things...

 

Yes, I think they released that wheel right at the point when the company started getting big so it was half way between a hand built project and full commercial product, it breaks down A LOT! When it's working it's pretty good but it is so unreliable.

 

Still no official Lamborghini Aventador in the game? How long ago did they released the Lamborghini trailer?

Saw that pretty cars, maybe when i get my wheel.

So how are things? See they still pushing updates, dlc packs, what is new in ac land? Might rush to get my wheel shipped to me after xmas. I do miss AC .

 

Developer pics look much better than the real game.

 

My game looks like the developer pics, especially with ReShade and SweetFX 2.0, ac can look just as good as Project Cars.

If you are that gtx 580, thats why. Its the performance of a GTX 660/ Hd 7850 OC in modern games.

I've already played Assetto Corsa with the Oculus Rift DK2. That was fun. Official support might not be necessary to enjoy racing with VR...
