Yes I'd almost given up on this completely but last night an old graphics driver made an unplayable game playable again. AMD Catalyst 15.10 Beta's saved the day. Crimson release was an utter dead donkey for me.

Fingers crossed I actually get to enjoy it now.

I got it for free with my CPU and am contemplating to start this today or wait for more patches and meanwhile start sniper elite 3.

    You will be fine :)

Only done a few missions so far and speaking from a performance point of view it runs flawlessly. My only gripe about the game is that they haven't improved the gameplay mechanics in some areas, really expected to be able to aim down the sights for JC3. Also you are forced to dual wield all your single handed weapons, almost got a steam refund for this reason alone except the games too much fun!

Patch is out, 122MB updating the game exe and a few patch specific archive size, 2.44 GB in total. :)

EDIT: Framerate is better during longer play sessions so it seems they've at least partially improved the memory leaks but I also noticed the GPU fan speed up pretty aggressively after a while although according to the GPU control panel temps are still OK although this is the first game where this has happened so it might be something to be mindful of at least.
(This particular GPU model is a bit overkill in terms of cooling so it usually has a very low fan rpm even when the GPU is at a high load.)

A few posts on Steam mentioned that the LOD view distance is worse now after the patch, going through the text files that contain all file names ( game_hash_names*.txt in the patch_win64 folder. ) seems to confirm this as well since there's a lot of LOD related meshes now in these archives, sadly I didn't save the original files as back-ups so I can't do a direct comparison between 1.00 and 1.02 file table txt files to see exactly what was changed/added.
(Moving the files might work in theory at least but it could break other fixes in turn.)

Didn't noticed that, at least i can run it at 80+ fps now on highest settings.

Though reshade/sweetfx doesn't seem to work anymore?

EDIT: Lmao, looks like dxgi.dll got deleted?

Yeah I need to compare as well, higher framerate is a plus though and some reductions might be needed for that to happen although a view distance slider or a couple of sliders might have been better if there is indeed a noticeable reduction in visual fidelity.

But there are other issues that have to be fixed as well, SMAA T2X is still not working correctly I believe and now the game has a pretty high chance of crashing on exit after this update though that's not a huge deal but still a bit of a annoyance.

Update 1.03 is out and this is just to fix the game crashing on exit which was a issue introduced after the previous update.

i read somewhere thats there is a tweaksguide that is so long and annoying to do to make the game run smoothly, as it is one of the worst optimized games in recent times.

WTH is with the load times?

Even after the patches this game takes way too long to load (RAID0 SSDs).

I don't have Just Cause 3. Partially, lack of money... partially a lack of interest.

But, a couple friends of mine did grab it.
And what's sad, specially after the amazing PC release of Mad Max...
They both said they had a smoother, more stable experience playing Arkham Knight then they've had with JC3.

I think that different studios were making JC3 and Mad Max.

    There were.
The long standing, existing Avalanche Studios made Mad Max, while a brand new studio in New York made JC3.

    And... it shows.
