    I have forwarded this info to MSI. If this is the case then we'll re-release the download with an updated database.

    Let's wait what MSI has to say. Could be a goof up.

    Your guess is wrong, Lightning is supported since summer. Upper BIOS is not a stock one, it uses MSI subsystem ID (1462) instead of stock NVIDIA (10DE) and that's Lightning's BIOS ID. If there is newer batch of Lightnings with different subsystem ID, MSI will need to add them to database as well. But nobody but MSI can comment it.

    4.2.0 beta was working like charm but this is totally opposite.

    Great work Unwinder. I have used Riva Tuner and after MSI Afterburner for years and they are the best GPU Overclocking Utilities out here. Keep up the great work :)

    Then you may try to create third party hardware database for your card manually and use it while MSI add your ID to the database. To do it create a text file called "MSIAfterburner.oem2" with the following contents, paste it to MSI Afterburner folder then select "third party" voltage control mode in application settings.

    Code:
    ;OEM

    [VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_32501462&REV_??]

    ; MSI GTX980Ti Lightning

    Desc					= MSI GTX980Ti Lightning
    VDDC_Generic_Detection			= 0
    MemoryVoltageBoostMax			= 100
    AuxVoltageBoostMax			= 30
    VDDC_IR3595A_Detection			= 32h
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Detection			= 34h
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Output			= 0
    VDDCI_IR3567B_Detection			= 34h
    VDDCI_IR3567B_Output			= 1
    TMEM_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TMEM_NCT7511Y_Formula			= TemperatureLocal-3
    TVRM_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TVRM_NCT7511Y_Formula			= TemperatureRemote2-3
    TPCB_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TPCB_NCT7511Y_Formula 			= TemperatureRemote1-3

    That simply clones settings of VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_11511462 card for your hardware.

    I see thanks for clarifying that, it's up to MSI then. :)

    EDIT: Oh and good work with this 4.2.0 version of Afterburner by the way and RTSS 6.4.1 too, some welcome changes there like support for Fiji.

    Please follow instructions from this therad and provide required info there, then it will be possible to add the card to third party voltage control database.

    It can only mean that database entry for 980 Lightning were removed inside MSI OEM database between beta 2 and official release. Try the trick I provided above.

    Then probably all who privately tested Fury voltage control during a couple weeks including AMD reps have really good imagination. :) Talking seriously, I can only offer you to use a different tool, I have no ideas how to help you and what's broken in your system, sorry.

    I was trying to help as well and spent about a hour of my work time on analyzing possible reasons. Thanks for "thanks for nothing".

    Im sorry for the Harsh response, but your implying that my system is broke just because it worked on another people machine. Im fine with using trixx since that solution even though inferior to afterburner at least it works on my broken system.
