If the Freesync min of the monitor is 40fps or 48fps & it goes below 39fps or 47fps you get smooth gameplay but not as smooth with Freesync on.

So in other words it should be like Nvidia Adaptive Vsync vs normal vsync lag.

The presentation says that it is automatically enable for FreeSync monitors which have a maximum refreshrate that is 2,5x or more the minimum refreshrate. The way i understand it, monitors which don't fulfill this criteria aren't supported.

This sounds like a frame pacing implementation, but only for Freesync. Why??????????????????????

Do they usually release new drivers at midnight or is it sometime during the business hours for them?

Business Hours but some times Sony & Microsoft release Firmware for console @ 12am so AMD going to wait in the morning to release the drivers.

Freesync monitors don't use to have a very wide Hz range.

2.5 times the lower Hz to max is not always avalaible like in your monitor (up to 60Hz) and other have a narrow 48-75 Hz range.

    There is also another question:

Is the max Hz for this feature the native one or the max we can get( boosted or with hacks)?

The Acer Predator X34 has a native Hz of 60 Hz but the Freesync can be 30 to 75 Hz (boosted).

PCperspective is going to demo the crimson driver tomorrow on a livestream. The livestream will be at 12pm PT / 3pm ET. I don't think they would demo something that will be released tomorrow. What would be the point?

Or the driver is coming after the stream is over. sound like AMD & PCperspective team up for the giveaway & going to hold the drivers up until the stream is over. they always do this in E3 for console when the store goes live after the event is over.

I used to complain about Nvidia with this **** too. Drivers aren't some exclusive product, yet these idiots insist on being blatantly vague and secretive about support for products we already paid for.

So in the end we never really know what progress they're making, resulting in threads with pages of pure speculation like this. :bang: Funneling millions into their products every year to be treated like morons...

Pure speculation really, this driver is not special because it's a freaking driver. people over PCperspective think this driver is a new hardware coming out & they have it early to show people for views.
