I remember there being a mod that got rid of the obnoxious mouselag in this game in Fallout 3. Anything for 4 yet?

Currently playing in 720p because of it (capped at 105 fps using nvidia drivers as physics go all wonk above it, but at least it aleviates some of that laggy feel).

Shadow mod is working great here, it hasn't dropped below 60fps, i went to every place that dropped my fps to 40's.

    Not even below 59fps. :D

Blade is a genius but for some reason this does not work for me,,,still getting frame rate drops and stutter in city areas.

That's weird, did you install it correctly?

This got rid of my fps drops completely, i've never seen it drop below 60fps ever with this in City areas.

Might give it a whirl too. The mouselag tends to be at its worst when dropping below 60 fps.

Yes,,,simple to install, just drop three files from zip into Fallout4 main folder.

You just need to edit the .ini a little.

Though ForceIgnoreSmoothing is a [Display] setting in the ini and will force shadow smoothing to be disabled, not mouse smoothing. :)

That alleviates some bits of it, but not all:

I remember it being some DX tool or something engine related. For now I just lock it at 105 fps and make sure I always have near 80 to 100 fps (as input latency will always decrease as framerate increases).

The physics seem to work fine, above 105 fps it was "stuck-at-terminal-o-rama".

Shadow distance isnt the cause of the extreme fps drops. Fps still tanks in certain areas even with shadows distance set to low

Well I got an fps boost using it in the big city, but you're probably right, it's probably one of the "many" reasons why FPS tanks.

Really wished they'd fixed their damn engine a bit more in this game as compared to Fallout 3 (you'd figure having recruited ID Software members at Bethesda, they could've asked for some pointers there, but alas).

same here. i set the min shadow distance to a mere 10.0 and FPS still tank in some areas, although not nearly as low as without. for example in the entrance floors of trinity tower without dynamic shadow distance i would get into the high 20s facing north (i think), now it stays 45+ no matter which way im facing.

running into some serious CPU limitations methinks (for me anyway) based on GPU usage, might try to OC a bit more but im not sure how much higher i can go on air before temps get too high.

anyone know what the distance values represent? meters, feet, yards?

Still need to test the big chaotic city filled with enemies, but so far I can finally run 1080p again with 60+ fps all the time :D

    These settings:
