Could try this

So, this is my first post. I decided to post to help those of you with SLI. As it turns out, Fallout 4 doesn't use SLI as of today (launch Date). I have 2 X GTX780 in SLI. I have noticed that when running the game, the second GPU utilization is always 0%. SO, this is what I did to force the game to use SLI (both GPUs are at 100%).

Launch Nvidia Control Panel--> Manage 3D Settings --> Program Settings --> Select Fallout 4 (Fallout4.exe)-->change SLI Rendering Mode to: Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2. it will warn you against changing this setting, just hit okey and save.

Now, Before this modification my average FPS was 30-40. After the modification, my FPS is always at 60 fps. I'm running at 2560 X 1440 with every thing on ULTRA ,FXAA, 16X filtering, except God Ray on Medium. everything else on ULTRA. My FPS never dips below 60.

I have played through the first 20 minutes of the game and I didn't notice any graphical abnormalities.

For Nvidia there's a new driver that was posted today in the Nvidia driver section of these forums that is "GameReady" for Fallout 4, Legacy of the Void and Battlefront 3 so maybe SLI works in those if you aren't already using them.

Thanks, but I'm using them there is no SLI support, checked with NV inspector which shows no changes since previous WHQL driver.

Sounds legit! I found the following especially funny:

On all platforms we saw occasional crashes (the auto-save system prevented any major loss of progress), and every so often we hit a side quest that won’t properly begin or end due to scripting bugs. But at no point did I encounter anything that halted my progress

I couldn't start or finish some quests, but at no point did anything hinder my progress! I guess side quests don't count as progress in a game anymore.

At least I've reminded myself as to why I avoid websites like IGN.

I've been playing FO3 lately. Bought it when it came out and couldn't really get into it til now. I'm having fun. I have a lot of graphics mods on it and it runs on a solid 60 on a 770 gtx maxed out . It does have random crashes,and I've also had the random corrupt save file,but it doesn't bug me that much. I might finish FO3 before I buy FO4. I'm just worried about getting FO4, then I probably won't finish FO3. I want to get FOV also..

I was this close to canceling my pip-boy edition from gamestop. but what you just said might give me some faith in this game? maybe I won't cancel.

Played for like 5 hours and yup, it's definitely more of the same, not that it's a bad thing.

Basically like a retweaked and modded fallout in different setting with different story line. Nothing special, but I like it. Graphics are kinda meh, and those damn sun shafts make my performance drop to like 38-40fps, which is annoying and the damn UI needs to be improved, it just reeks of consoles.

Yeah, the performance on R9 gpu's is a bit underwhelming and I guess my stock clocked non-k 3000 series i5 isn't really helping the situation that much either.

Anyway, hope there will be updated drivers sooner than later, as for now I think I'll just drop some settings down to high to avoid getting immense frame rate drops.
