Why on earth would you do a side grade at best going from a 290x to a 3.5gb 970? , although Google only had the 4gb variant of the card in search?

"Google only had the 4gb variant of the card in search?" - Cute.

Rebuilt to m-iTX, sold 290x to Family member with mATX case.

The one thing 970 does have going for it is it draws less power.

In general, if people don't have issues with Nvidias business practices - then PC gaming is doomed.

Socialism and PC gaming really don't mix, so i'm sure PC gaming will thrive under Nvidia or anyone else business practices.

Agreed. I've had more problems with my 980 than I ever did with my old 5970 which I used for like 4 years straight.

if i understand right... only the game ready drivers are released exclusively for gaming experience right? well... ok to me... game ready drivers are always a ****... always runs worse the new game than driver before it... and always have more bugs for other games too...

Game Ready drivers are the exact same drivers which gets WHQLed. More often than not it is the exact same driver which is Game Ready and WHQL release. There is no difference.

Improvement is a matter of MAX fps?

Game Ready means stability and compatibility as much as performance. You were also saying that they make a game run worse which is bollocks.

No, they're from a test published yesterday on overclockers.ru: http://www.overclockers.ru/lab/7130...okart-nvidia-protiv-drajverov-raznyh-let.html

I don't like it, i won't install it. I don't care what anyone thinks. My money, my computer, i want to choose what i install or not. Simple as that.

If you get crashes with every driver after the game ready driver there is something wrong with the system imho

no... always fixed to me one or two driver later or back to one before... but is very common to see users with crashes in driver ready to new game... just see the topics mainly gta 5... far cry 4 and mad max... generally the "driver ready" don´t give a good support to sli... no fps improvements and give more crashes in these games than the driver before him...

I was getting crashes with every single game, even after a clean Windows install, with nothing OCd, and could not for hte life of me work out what dafuq was wrong, until my PSU went Bang, soon as I installed the replacement, no more crashing

I would never ever have guessed the PSU to be at fault for game crashes

To be completely blunt, you offered no facts, all hearsay/anecdotal evidence. Unlike dr.rus who provided verifiable benchmarks.

i could say the same exact sentences as your post, only with, "no issues" as the focus point instead of "issues". and then what? who is right?

tested gta v, mad max and far cry 4, on a wide variety of drivers, and three different gpu's, gtx 660, gtx 970 and amd 7970. no issues with any of them.

In fact, the only time I ever have crashes in games is during the first few days of building a new system, while I am finding the correct voltages for my overclocks. after that, no crashes in games. And that to me is normal. If I have crashes, I know I did something wrong.

It's unfortunate though that most people rather opt for blaming drivers, instead of swallowing their pride and asking for help, learning more about PC's.

yeah i´m sure you need help... mainly with your voltages and strong overclock... but is not my case... if you need source just read the driver ready topics and you´ll see...

again... i saying about how driver ready runs the dedicated game... and not a variety of drivers on these games
