    Missing file.

In case it makes any difference, I have a few partitions. I have Windows XP installed on partition I:, and the Nvidia driver install files on partition F:. However I'm able to install after doing a restore before I had any Nvidia driver installed.

I'm not sure DDU completely cleaned out 355.80 because when I installed .83 to my surprise under SLI for Arkham Knight it showed SLI as being set to single GPU without me having changed the setting (it was set to that under .80). Now it's stuck at single GPU and nothing I can do changes it back to multi GPU. I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting bad performance with .83, possibly the driver has become corrupted but DDU isn't correcting the issue. :(

Windows Defender claims DDU 15.4.1.0 contains a virus called Win32/Hadsruda!bit. False positive?

Windows Defender started flagging it with last night's Virus definition Update, it seems.

Defender doesn't complain about 15.4.0.0 and earlier. So perhaps something that changed in the latest version causes it to go off.

I've tried googling "Hadsruda!bit" and found very little information about it, so I can't say what would cause this to pop up. I'm not getting this on my system, and I can't see any reason why it would be showing up on Windows Defender.

    So, yes?

It is a false positive that triggers on the 7-zip self extracting executable (7zip .exe) created by the programmer btw.

I have replaced the download as archived .zip this reports back as clean.

    win32/hadsruda

Pretty well known virus, I have a hard time believing this is a false positive, I have removed it once and it already came back.

    DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS

At least until this is cleared up.

Arkham Knight is set by default to use single GPU mode in the Nvidia profile. There is nothing wrong.

In the Arkham Knight patch notes they stated sli would be fixed in a future update. The only thing you can do now is set your second card as physx for Arkham Knight.

    @wagnard

i was wondering do we really need to go to safe mode in windows 10 also, because safe mode requires additional steps to enter, it's not just like that in windows 7 where you restart and press f8...

is it safe to use it in normal mode in windows 10?

I've been using DDU ever since it was released in normal mode, not once in safe mode. It worked fine for me in the early days, and now, if anything, it's a hell of a lot safer and more fleshed out than it used to be.

Also, there is an option to make a system restore (by default, I think it does) if you're worried.

Its safe, its only to prevent files in use errors, black screen when removing the driver for some cards / drivers combinations.
DDU can also automatically reboot you into safe mode.(no long complicated steeps needed )

Amazing piece of software. Never had any issues installing drivers, when I uninstalled using DDU (windows safe mode).

    Thanks! :)

    Sir:

As grateful as I've been over the years for this utility, I must now register a complaint.

I grabbed the update, but Norton started to complain as I installed it ("few users/ less then a week old/ must be trouble,") so I tried to fire it up, just to see the version number.

I get this pup-up, where obviously, the "yes" would take me straight to the program, just like I wanted. :nerd:

Wrong answer :pc1: : It tried to reboot. Slow-motion style, as I'd not been rigged for a shut-down. Then, it went into Safe-Mode three times, as I wasn't logging in, but instead telling it to reboot, over and over again.

I finally logged in, and there was DDU, waiting for me. I was too mad to ever read the version number: I just told the fool thing to reboot again.

Could I please get you to rename the buttons on that dialogue from "yes/ no/ cancel" to "booting to safe/ straight to program/ cancel," sir?

I'll see what I can do. I will probably add this as it seems a good idea.
