No issues on my 980Ti. Had no issues with 970 or 770 or 680 prior to it. With MEI, without MEI, even with MEI bugged due to a bad BIOS update - no difference in games whatsoever.

So this is the point where I say that whatever is happening in this thread - it's unlikely to be related to NV in any way.

Because it's a part of all recent Intel chipsets and you need to have the driver for the device to work in an OS?

That's what I was wondering but it sounded like vbs meant it was a driver aimed at corporations.

The feature itself is aimed at corporations as it's basically an interface of h/w configuration via a remote connection by remote administrator. There are a lot of features which are present in all CPUs and chipsets but aren't used in a typical home desktop / notebook scenario.

This installed .1166 on my system.

It wasn't meant lol, was an accident as I was curious how bad 1440/2160 would be if 1080 was 15fps :)

No, I never crash. Games just go from perfect to hitching and dropping frames in a blink if an eye after 1 - 3 hours. But I've had a little glimmer of hope, after showing symptoms twice in less than 2 hours Dying Light has been running for 7 hours problem free. I changed my page file from system managed to 8GB/16GB. No idea why the game would need so much if this is indeed the fix, which I really hope it is. I'm going to leave it running all day, if it stays symptom free I'll move back to Witcher 3, if both are fixed I'll be happy to blame the page file and move on with my life.

I guess 'LMS' stands for LocalManagementService. If it is then I guess the binary of that service (or the product in terms of windows installer) has shown 11.0.0.1144 version.

That's correct. It basically allows for low-level full system control from a remote admin (out-of-band management).

It depends of the game. For example, in bf4 I had this weird input lag issue until I turned GameDvr off.

Back to Windows 8.1 with MSI default drivers and the latest Nvidia drivers, pleased to say everything running smoothly and now, finally, no weird hitches. Happy and back in love with PC gaming for at least ohh all of a day....(probably)

so, has anyone who sees changes between IMEI driver versions tried just disabling it in device manager? I mean, why would you even bother installing drivers for it unless you need remote management of your hardware?

Yeah but some cases its make os running better and hardware if 1 driver is flanky all system perfomance is poor

i got bit more performance if that not disabled system running smoother.

but how does it accomplish this? I don't see anything in the documentation that would suggest that.

I can't disable the interface itself in BIOS but all the remote related stuff.
    Reason might be:
Microsoft supplies and older driver version for it, so a newer driver might have some performance and bug fixes besides supporting newer chips and firmware.

There is a bit more to it than remote management, which is the AMT part of it.

    and this

Idk why but Cryengine3 seems to like whole package, at least in windows10.. Windows 8.1 was ok with just driver, any driver, and it didnt have any gpu usage drops.

I'll just keep whole package and be done with it, although both extra services try to access amazon intel IP something, it works just fine if you block its communication.
