    Wait, so is it
    - intel IMEI 11.0.0.1144
    or
    -intel IMEI 11.0.0.144?

Because the link in the second post is the .1144 version and googling the .144 version only brings up links for .1144.

I've now updated to IMEI .1157, and still the same issues.

Edit: Also tried .1166(7) and still need to do the fix below.

What did fix it was switching resolution until GPU usage shoots up, at that point you can select whatever resolution you want to stick with and it will be fine.
I don't know if there is a pattern, pretty much just trail and error, but i tried 2160p, 1440p (DSR) and then 1080p, and then back to 2160p and then i noticed i was getting 60ish fps, so tried 1080p again and all seems fixed.

You installed whole package or just the driver?

Also you tested any compatibility mode?

EDIT: ah you fixed it by changing resolution lol weird :)
Yeah its .1144, we were talking about one and the same.. was just a typo on my side sry :D

    just use this from here
    http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=802#dl

click on download tab and you will see it

latest z170 shows these two there

    http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=807#dl

For my mobo specifically its apparently .1155
    http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Z87-DELUXE&p=1&s=45

but I'll just keep this .1144 atm, maybe I'll try again some other time when I'm bored :nerd:

EDIT: funny though Asus lists Z170 deluxe IMEI 11.0.0.1336 as "latest"

    Thanks, -Tj-.

When i install it, it only installs a language pack into Program Files (x86) and theres only one entry in the Programs and Features panel - Intel Management Engine Components. Is this correct?

Went from .1144 to .1157 driver only via Windows Driver Update, then whole package to .1166.

Yeah, that is weird and a bit annoying that it has to be done everytime the game is started, but it might be handy if i come across the same issue again in other games.

Ah ok,yeah that is lame.. Maybe report to nvidia and let them have a look?
    :)

Depends what OS, it should install at least 1 or 2 extra services, maybe try 2nd link by z170 and use win8/7 driver if you're at that.

    Ah, cheers -Tj-.

    ---

Right, so after trying everything in this thread, i cant say anything made a difference at all. Maybe something to do with the 5xx series gpus?

    Installing IMEIs - No diff.
Installing Nvidia 347.25 - Worse in MGS as far as general framerate goes compared to 355.82, BUT... there where no fps drops down to 15-20 fps with 347.25. Was also using the official sli bits from 355.82 with 347.25 btw.

    OS: Windows 8.1 x64.

    OP or anyone else,
If there is anything you'd like me to test/try out or think i may have done wrong, let me know and i'll have a play around and post results.

My old games seem to work as well as ever, however I´m seeing way too many newer games suffering stuttering problems, games that don´t even use more than 2gb of vram and stutter also in 780s and 980s. That game "Ride" you mention was totally unplayable for me from day one, because of the stutters.

If you're using win10, don't forget to disable Xbox GameDVR. It's a video recording overlay.

Also, watch out for when you're doing a clean win10 install, windows update will try to update your MEI drivers.

Also, can anything at all fix the diablo3 stuttering? It's disgusting how game is filled with it, there are dozens of threads about it in the d3 forums but they just don't give a ****.

    Where did you find .1166?

Do you have a G-sync monitor?

Doesn't that only work in windowed and borderless windowed modes though? I've found that I cannot access the Game Bar to use the screenshot or DVR features in fullscreen games in Windows 10 which kind of negates its use really, at least for me.

By the way, until I read this thread, I had no idea that you could update the MEI firmware so I did some research, downloaded the MEInfo, MEManuf, ME Analyzer, etc tools and checked mine.

It was v9.0.2.1382 and after reading further it turned out there was a newer version, 9.0.31.1487, for my chipset so I did the MEManuf test to ensure my current one was working (it passed) and then proceeded to update. I then re-ran MEInfo and MEManuf to ensure that it was working post-reboot.

I am using MEI driver v11.0.0.1160 though but MEInfo shows the LMS version is 11.0.0.1144 as show here from my Cmd.exe window:

Nice bit of troubleshooting :) It seems I have to sort my system out, I removed the 760 and even on the integrated graphics I get the same hitching in games.

Gonna start from fresh today, get it right with the integrated and then reintroduce my 760 to see if I can get this mofo gaming smoothly :)

Intel's Management Engine Interface is a very specific interface, which should theoretically not interfere with anything graphics-related:
It's really strange to see so many people reporting success stories on performance-related issues when updating this driver, so it looks like there could be some system services trying to use this interface inappropriately, causing stuttering and hitches.

I have disabled the "Intel Management Engine Interface" in Device Manager, as it's a feature directed for enterprise system management (i.e., out-of-band management).

This thread is now super confusing. starts of saying nvidia drivers causing stuttering in games, then its claimed intel management engine interface causes it and its not games, just metal gear solid.

And I can't even begin comprehending what MEI has to do with graphics drivers and gaming

This where I say that you should bought an AMD GPU :p
No issues on this side. Silky smooth...lube smooth :)

Jokes aside, seems like there's some kind of conflict with NV drivers.

If so, then why is the MEI driver featured on Gaming mobo driver pages?
