Hello, I don't understand if Win10 is using my Mobility Radeon HD 4670 display adapter... I have the adapter listed in Device Manager with AMD drivers v15.200.1062.1004; signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher, date 03/08/2015. GPU-Z lists both Radeon and Intel 4 series Express chipset, but when I go to display settings, Advanced Display settings, display adapter properties it says the adapter is the Intel one. DxDiag only shows the Intel Adapter. When I try to run a game, it runs very slow, as if it runs on Intel adapter. How can I understand if the Radeon adapter is active and used? Please help!
I don't have a setup like yours, but if you go to Display Settings I guess it should show the Intel one, as it is the adapter that handles everything except intensive 3D, and the AMD adapter is really connecting "through" the Intel one.
What you see in Win 10 works slightly different to what you were once used to with fixed switching. (Where you went from one card to another - blinking screen) AMD has silently removed fixed switching last year. What you have now is forced Dynamic Switching. Yes the Intel card is your "main" card now whilst "in theory" all the heavy work should be offloaded to the AMD card. CCC has a tab which shows the applications that you can assign to the AMD GPU. Games will see the "Intel" card as your main card but it does not mean that it isn't using the AMD card. Use Afterburner to check which GPU gets stressed when the game switches on. Unfortunately the reality isn't as pretty as what I described above. Most applications are locked to the Intel GPU (yes that means slow Windows animations). AMD still hasn't fixed some bugs which prevent the AMD card from working in this config for some generations. This seems to especially effect configs with early Intel HD graphics. I am mostly familiar with this behavior through what I have seen on Intel HD first gen + ATI Mobility 5xxx cards. Try multiple games. Use Afterburner to see which GPUs get taxed.
Not sure if your Radeon 4000 series is still supported by latest graphic drivers + Win10. (I thought 5000 series was oldest drivers supported) http://support.amd.com/en-us/download But if know they should work, then Listen to FunkyMike's last post. -MSI Afterburner should show graphic displays of the Radeon 4670 being used for games. Also AMD system monitor will show same graphical display info. -Fixed mode last worked on 14.4 drivers, but not sure if you can install older drivers on Win10. Note Fixed mode requires your bios to allow forced fixed mode. -Do you have Configure switchable Graphics menu? It's supposed to allow you to choose which apps will utilize high perfance gfx(4670). Does the menu show up in Win10? If not, you may need Leshcat drivers which should allow Intel+Amd SG menu to work correctly (but not sure really since I have an AMD+AMD dual gfx setup).
Drop the non-technical hipster attitude. It's garbage. @pdario Can you see your Radeon being listed in Device Manager? Start menu -> Settings -> Devices -> scroll down a bit. Then see if it's listed under 'Display adapters' category.
Is there any working Driver for Switchable Graphics for Windows 10? What means "Dynamic Switching"? And how can driving this?
Ok, thank you all for all clarifying answers. Yes, I have my Radeon listed in Device Manager, but I don't have any CCC installed: which version should I install and how? Is it a standalone package? Could you please link it (and Afterburner, too, please)? About Win10 opinions: I must admit I don't see any major advantage in it, at least on my old notebook. I will see if I can fix my games and then decide to keep it or not. Thank you again
Hello! Sorry for being late, but I've been on holiday! I'm not at home now, but I'm pretty sure I don't have any \AMD directory on my home PC. Do you mean Windows Update by WU? How can they create \AMD? Tnx
I have GT650m and intel HD graphics I can choose in NVidia control panel which one is used I guess AMD must have something similar
I found and installed MSI Afterburner; it shows both graphic cards, but the only GPU to show some % usage is GPU2 (intel); GPU1 does not even hava a usage %, it has core voltage and memory usage, all to 0. I think I need CCC to set things correctly: where do I find it? TNX
Please, this seems to be the last thing I need to enable my GPU! Where can I download and install CCC only?
