my 980 runs DP>HDMI, normal HDMI and DVI, and my clocks idle correctly

Same resolution on each screen though

Yeah that's the big difference and one fix I have been hoping for like ten years now.

Btw, Kevin are all three of those the same rez? Because on my 290s running two different resolutions did the same thing to the clocks. Weird it didn't on amd but does on nvidia on your setup

More like 40-50% at higher resolutions such as 1440p and 4K. Theoretically, the Titan X GPU has about 50% more of everything compared to the 980's GPU, and the 980Ti is a few % behind that.

Definitely worth the upgrade. Are you avoiding SLi though? At that resolution 980Ti SLi would be sweet!

    Difference is about 40% faster than a 980. 980ti clocked at 1500 it's probably closer to 50%.

Not avoiding no, but me and the missus just wiggled around some income, and it looks like I might have a few £ to spend on new hardware each month soon, and my first port of call is a 980ti, the month after, either another, or a new screen, and so on - just working out what to go for first, I was wondering about SLI 980, but I think I`ll be wanting the 6GB vRAM if I'm going SLI with a 1440p or 4k screen at some point

Nice one, I've got that upgrade bug coming on strong :D

Sell that 980 and use that plus the extra income for a 980ti. 980 is priced pretty badly now tbh. $150 extra will net you a much faster card. From my experience with the 680 I avoid any cards with the *04 naming scheme like gk104, gm204, pascal will probably have gp*04 cards out first.
If you want I'll run the firestrike benches with 1 card at 1506 and you can compare the gpu score.
    Firestrike 1506 7604 21,121 graphics score
    Extreme 9,574
    Ultra 4,876
Windows 10 , no link as I don't remember my password for the forums, posted from my fone.

Got my refund from Newegg and now the MSI 6G OC is sold out. :bang: So, is the OC likely to be binned better than the LE?

I found the 980ti from the 980 a nice upgrade.

Heres a couple of results from the same rig

    980 @ 1500/8000

Graphics Score 16250 Physics Score 12456 Combined Score 6548

    980ti @ 1483/7800

Graphics Score 21494 Physics Score 12441 Combined Score 8022

(note i have run the 980ti at 1500/8000 to get a clock for clock comparison, but got a lower score than the 1483/7800 result - think I was hitting the power limit, need to mod my bios some more to give more juice)

Those other firestrike should show a bigger difference in performance.
