I've had zero issues so far running an i7 4790k at 4.6/1.3v and GTX 980ti SLI with +200 on the cores. Haven't messed with their voltage though because I haven't needed it. Didn't overclock the memory because I don't see a difference in games whether or not I overclock it. Also powering 5 case fans, an SSD, HDD, and a Corsair H100i GTX AiO with no problems.
Got my G10s set up. Also moved back to my Phanteks case. I haven't done any load testing, only individual testing and the numbers look great so far. It's not pretty but it works ...
I opted for a corsair 1000 watt for my kids rig, I like headroom on psu. And the fact that it's going to be in Florida, that's what I opted for. He's running my sli 780ti that I gave him.
Picked up an MGSV 980 Ti bundle last week when Amazon had the EVGA ACX on sale for $650 ($660 w/backplate). I got the one with backplate delivered a few days ago: Haven't had a chance to test it out that much but in addition to the factory overclock, I am able to add another +134 to the core (and + 25 to the voltage). It boosts up to between 1420-1475mhz from what I've seen. I think 1475mhz is my stable core limit. I tried adding some more to reach 1500 but it would crash. I have a stable +400 on the memory, haven't tried increasing that yet. Here's my 980Ti Firestrike score with 2600K: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7974443? Graphics - 20,511 Physics - 11,510 Combined - 7,427 Overall - 15,857 I played a few hours of Dragon Age Inquisition with that oc and it ran stable, silent and cool. I left the fan at default, did not hear it get louder than my cpu fans and the hottest I saw it get was 74c. Here are some screenshots from that DA session. I mostly got 60 fps during gameplay but fluctuates between 35-60 during cutscenes. 2880x1620 downsampled to 1920 x 1080, MSAA disabled, the rest maxed out: And here are direct links to the full sized, un-downsampled 2880 x 1620 images: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/418/19961988268_ec272616a6_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/257/19962546930_d3cb3496df_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/423/19527990414_89cf8d7b6a_o.png https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3726/20142556502_0ab08157bb_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/495/19962604450_55f175e7d4_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/448/20150582865_f02ce05d5a_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/316/20156147751_a80cc23064_o.png https://farm1.staticflickr.com/553/20150556495_85a84332c6_o.png
Yeah I'm still a bit weary about the lack of headroom, don't want to shorten its lifespan. I'll upgrade the PSU later on as a preventative measure.
Well, it fits the MSI non-reference board. The MSI board also has excellent VRM fortification, probably the best out of all the cards. On average, my load temps dropped 20-25* These things ran really hot. With the top card sucking in all the heat from the bottom card, you'd easily see 83-86* during heavy load. Now I see an average of 55 and can sometimes sneak up to 60 when running a properly SLI scaled game uncapped or in the 90-120 range. Plus, no more hideous 80-90% fan noise.
Unigine Valley first pass with my Stock 980ti Win10 had some issues... finally ironed it out, I hope image to big to post on thread https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/fa/31/d9/fa31d902b3c8007dc33aa593a52c5106.jpg
Haha, only 2 for me unfortunately! 1 is for the missus as a replacement for her 780. Great cards though! I can't complain, get about 56c maximum temp with 1440 core and 3947 memory.
980-Ti Oc-ed to 1450/1500Mhz on Core give 80%+ performance of 980-SLI of Retail version in 1440p and 4K, according to my personal experience on Futuremark benchmark.
That's a fairly big performance boost if coming from a single 980 then, didn't expect it to be so big tbh, found a benchmark after I posted that saying about 20-30% boost over a 980
Just got the MSI 980TI 6gb gaming only thing i am unhappy about is that i have a DP screen a HDMI screen and a dvi screen when i have my DVI screen pluged in the the card will not idle so its always on 912 MHZ and temp of 59c.
Video cards have always been like this. Even dual displays will keep the card at elevated clocks if they run different resolutions
Thanks for that i have used AMD cards for the last 8/9 years (last being 290X in crossfire, with the same monitors , they ran just fine in idle
