Did you manage to find anything in the logs?

Sounds like it's just going to keep tripping up over whatever the problem is

Try clearing all your temp folders, uninstall drivers, monitoring programs, anything that might interfere with the upgrade

    Disconnect non necessary hardware

Run sfc /scannow from elevated CMD

Try to fix your original OS before upgrading, 10 is seeing something it doesn't like

To anyone having issues starting the update tool (aka: Cannot start windows 10 setup, reboot PC and try again).

    First, Install and run http://www.thewindowsclub.com/downloading-fixwu

Then just install a random important update (I'm sure you have one :D) from windows update, restart, and boom! that fixed it for me =)!

Installed fine on a patrician HDD (No space on my SSD) using the iso downloaded from the force update app, seems nice ....

God damn do I not miss having OS on HDDs

It actually tried to reboot this time, but failed and said their was a safeOS error of some kind and restored the windows to the original installation.

So, now I am running the SFC thingy.

Other than that the system is pretty much clean anyway, as I uninstalled everything prior to doing this.

    EDIT:

I have corrupt system registry files which are irrecoverable - So, I'm ****ed

First gona test in VM before tempting faith, Kinda amazed I getting 80mbits down on the download would think there internet would have heart attack today

btw Pro vs Pro N what is differences? or that version with out IE/?

And it is ativated. Dunno what happend, just noticed now.

I have no problems so far.

Dark souls seems to be smoother, and believe me, that game is a hammer on the cpu so i think they did something good behind the scenes with w10.

It´s also quite a bit faster to boot and reach desktop.

Upgrading from ISO or USB will create that folder too

I will give it some days (maybe weeks) before jumping to W10, just to be safe from some possible headaches.

However I'm curios, I have a valid Windows 7 Ultimate key and a Winows 8 Pro Upgrade key, will I be able to make a USB Windows 10 install stick which I can use in the future to do clean installs?
