Ok, it seems that the inf contains drivers for mobility products only. Maybe we should wait for asder00 to mod the driver, or a day to see what AMD will be releasing tomorrow.

That's weird. The ATI Radeon HD3870 is listed there separately

I installed this driver on my HD6670 so I don't think it only contains drivers for mobility products.

I haven't modded anything, just installed it through device manager.

Yea, about every single AMD card is supported with these drivers - from the HD2000 to the Fury

Which one do I choose? :p

How do I know which .inf is the right one to point to?

I just pointed it to the folder and it took care of it automatically, in the end the only thing that will change is which manufacturer name will be displayed in the driver name in CCC. :)
(I got Lenovo because it was the first one alphabetically but a few .inf files lower and there's matching files for HP, Dell, Rage6, ATI and others.)

EDIT: Initially I was searching for "R9 200" and most of the .inf files had entries for it but doing a search for "R9 290" instead showed a more limited set of .inf files had support for this GPU.

    C0187177.inf - 1507241903-15.20.1065-150721a-187177C-Lenovo
(But no entry for the 290X, this is the one I got installed via the device manager.)

    C0187178.inf - 1507241847-15.20.1065-150721a-187178C-Dell
(Has the 290X but not the 290)

    C7187178.inf - 1507241847-15.20.1065-150721a-187178C-Dell
    (290X only)

    CU187178.inf - 1507241847-15.20.1065-150721a-187178C-Dell
    (290X only)

Since these all seem to be laptop related drivers with that OEM name and all I guess there's no Fury GPU support in this .cab file (Driver itself might have support if modded though.) but it'll be in the actual 15.8 or whatever AMD will call the next WHQL driver for Windows 10 and earlier. :)
(Which I'm hoping will either be available as a stand-alone driver update later this week or from Windows Update though it might take until next week and since it'll likely be a WHQL driver it might even be a older version due to the two to three week long WHQL certification process - this driver has a file date of June 27th though I haven't checked what the signature date is. - or maybe it'll be a beta after all.)

    Are you sure?

There are .inf files that say Retail and others that say nothing

Well it looks like I was wrong then but it's for the better if all currently supported GPU models (And several legacy ones too it seems.) are available even if it might be via various .INF files since this looks like a combined driver-only update. :)
(No CCC2 or other AMD specific drivers, just the display driver on it's own and a big amount of .INF files to cover every GPU model and laptop OEM I guess.)

Guess if you're doing a clean install of these then the CCC from the 1046.2 drivers could do since it's the newest available along with the HDMI audio thing and possibly other stuff since that's a more complete driver update, maybe it could even be altered to have these display drivers instead for a easier complete install though it would probably need to be signed again if modified like that.

(With this .cab file being more of a "barebones" update or how to say, though hopefully a newer complete driver release will be available in a few days what with Windows 10 getting it's official release tomorrow.)

EDIT: Perhaps a 15.300.xxxx beta release soon?, would be nice. :D
(Which apparently will have OpenGL 4.5 implemented or the initial version of it at least for those who have been asking for support for this.)

It is for all cards you just have to manually install them.

All cards (DirectX 10 and newer) are already supported. The official version should come out today or tomorrow (Windows 10 launch).

Has anyone here had to do what I had to do to get 1046.2 installed from Windows Update at the weekend (having installed Catalyst 15.7 from AMD.com a while back)?

    As in...
Use DDU to remove current drivers in Safe Mode
    Reboot
Check for updates in Windows Update

But what about a mod for Windows 8.1 / 7 users to install these 1065 drivers? Or is that not needed here? Not all of us are running Windows 10 preview you know.

Yes, it doesn't come with CCC and the existing one doesn't work with it. I wonder how VSR was managed to be enabled!

i can't change 3d name, but i just install them on windows 8.1
So these driver are for win 7 to win 10
And for install them, you have to install from device manager...
    :nerd:

edit: ccc won't work with these on win 8.1

Yeah, seems like AMD have changed something with these! No doubt very shortly a full driver will be available on the AMD site, hopefully even later than this one.

Hmm, would it be possible to create a "re-pack" of sorts then and use the latest CCC from 1055 or something? Not having CCC is a deal-breaker for me. I like to enable / disable Crossfire at will.

No luck with the 1046.2 CCC or the 1055 CCC. It does keep the settings though that were previously set in CCC.
