    So i found a hidden folder in my C:\ im assuming this is the windows 10 download that's hidden until they officially release it inside is a setup exe which opens a purple boxed window with install

    Dunno if this is a known thing but anyone who hasn't installed windows 10 or has been waiting might be a way to do it early if you can't wait

    Seeing other people trying this, and setup is reporting boot.wim is missing

    Possibly being held back until the 29th

    You'll be on the 29th in Auz now though wont you?

    Ooooo, a 500 MB compressed/1 GB uncompressed Day One update...that could either be a very good thing or a possibly a bad thing if Microsoft have broken something in there. Yeah, I know, I am trying to be optimistic but it's far easier to isolate issues (and block/hide) those smaller updates we have been getting than these much larger ones.

    I am hoping that all of the built-in apps have been updated as most are working fine but are missing basic features (e.g. lack of folder sorting options in Photo), are not working fully (e.g. missing thumbnails for the majority of my music in Groove Music) or just do not work 100% reliably (e.g. the Xbox app which often fails to sign in with error 0xBBA).

    For the most part though, Windows 10 does feel otherwise complete and I have not experienced any serious issues besides the ones caused by forced graphics driver updates (or my own tampering!!!).

    I like the sound of a 500MB/1GB patch, hopefully that's what they've been working on since RTM, to smooth the rough edges for GA

    Mines at 4gb right clicked the folder and its going up on the fly so they definitely initiated the download for most people id say

    I'm curious as to what is in that update folder for those that have the full 4+ GB download. Does it contain the Day One update already?

    Has anyone raised the points of like not only windows 10 being downloaded behind closed doors and us not really knowing but if all these updates are automatic wouldn't this mean its so easy for them to install things we have no idea about to help monitor etc

    Like i don't wanna get into the debate about we already have no security just speaking from logic everyone uses windows 10 its free you have no say in ms updates sounds like a easy way to mass survey everyone ?

    Just checked this and i only have a sources folder in it.
    Does Win 10 upgrade download itself?

    I am on Windows 8.1 pro with reserved upgrade with verification e-mail.
    Just deleted Win 10 as the upgrade is coming soon.

    I know it is only hours left until official release, but do you think adding the boot.wim file from 10240 build will work? Has anyone tried this?

    BTW now i have the full download 4.02gb

    Well mine is exactly like this

    size = 5.55 GB (5.961,207,618 bytes)
    size on disk = 4.02 GB (4.325.425.152 bytes)

    contains = 16.799 Files, 3.594 Folders

    but boot.wim is still missing

    I know but i wanted to do it the officiall way as i was not an insider on that build.
    I just installed your image (BTW thanks for everything Extraordinary iso's, modded drivers) just for testing purposes.:)

    Yup, 29th is when you can install it, if you want to install earlier, use the ISOs posted around the forum, or add the boot.wim (If that is all that is missing)

    Will those that are running 10240 with a local account get updated to the officially released version?
