New AMD Driver for Win10 RTM via WU !!!

Best WDDM 2.0 driver so far. No issues with WOT and GTA5, no crashes, DXVA works. AMD is on right direction.

 

Reported it in the earlier VSR thread...but these have finally enabled VSR on my HD 7850 2GB...! I now have access to either 2560x1600 or 2048x1536--good job AMD...!

I'm on Win10x64, build 10240, btw.

I used DDU and reinstalled twice.

 

Look to C:\AMD\something, there should be the CCC executable installer somewhere.

 

DXVA used to not work? What was your situation?

Mine works but the mem clock go to max whenever I play video, chrome, firefox or mcp and add 10+ degee to my card so I disable hardware acceleration. Only Edge browser go to desirable mem.
But then again I modded my bios to have lower idle clock/vol so it could be the reason. :banana:

 

I hope this isn't their release build not only is vsr not working for me (r9 290x dp) but my freesync option is also gone now. Christ AMD what does it take to get a good driver that works for everyone?

Just boot into safe mode run DDU and reboot then try again :eyes:

 

How does it compare to real world games. Do you see improvements there. I must say this looks like a good driver for you

 

For everybody not getting it thru WU.
If you have ever used DDU it will disable WU driver updates.
Make sure you enable it again as that is what i did to get the driver.

 

I just used DDU in safe mode it said it would disable WU driver updates but after reboot I just got the new driver trough WU figure that one out

 

Ok so here is my results

I ran it 2 times and get more draw calls on 1046.2 every single time.

I only get 15.200.1046.2 thru update, what am i doing wrong? I used DDU to set back default auto update and i don't get the new 1055 update.

 

the new 1 is 1046.2

its a different driver branch to the 1055 which didnt have fiji support

Guys a general question, I have a 7670M, is it even worth bothering with new drivers or has my card reached its max potential a long time ago?

 

Your card is not GCN and not very powerful, but general driver improvements should help you a bit. Don't expect miracles, improvements from 14.12 Omega are 5 to 20% at most.

 

If you have 100% GPU utilization, then you do not all those new drivers. If any of 15.7 and newer drivers works for you without issue, pick that for features.

But considering Terascale 2 uArch with 480SP and 600MHz, your GPU is likely bottleneck everywhere, so do not expect any improvements in games over other older drivers.
