That is error correction detection at work, it keeps loading the vram until it passes iirc.

So I think I'm going to try to return this SC+ card, starting to get the same fan noise issues as the first one. What's the best air cooled card on the market right now? Zotac AMP! Extreme? I'd go with the classy but I can't afford to go water for several months and I hate these ACX coolers.

Zotac AMP has a great cooler. The MSI gaming cards are also pretty impressive, might be worth considering them too.

Luck of the draw, the coolers are equally impressive though going by reviews. There's pretty much no wrong choice between the two, you'll be happy with either. Personally I'd go with the MSI cooler because the AMP is the size of a triple slot card.

Triple slot is no biggie for me as I want to avoid all the issues that come with SLI.

I wouldnt bother with an air cooled card now i've had the G10 kraken with Corsair H75 AIO on it for a few days amd had a play.

Sure it adds abit extra on the cost, but boy its worth it.

1500mhz + on the core with no voltage increase, all need to do is edit bios to increase power target (or use afterburner etc etc).

Temps maxing at 55'c with silent operation.

The low temp is a double whammy for OC'ing, the first volatge drop occurs at 65'c afaik with these cards. As the temp never reaches this, you get stable voltage for a better overclock.

For anyone Looking to Overclock those sweet card. I just had to buy a new PSU after pushing my system.

    I have a Corsair RM650 and an i7-5820k at 4.64Ghz on 1.30V.

With any voltage higher than defaut i've had System shutdown in demanding application.

Ironically Benchmark like 3dmark13 Firestrike are running easily. But games that push both card and cpu can't be handled. I've had the issue with Battlefield 4, 1440P, core coltage 1.23V and Batman Arkham knight running at 4K core voltage 1.23V.

To anyone looking to push those cards, i'll advice going for stronger PSU. I've to admit that the 5820k isn't helping.

So I just went ahead and ordered all the parts to cool down my 2 x MSI 980 Ti cards. Having these babies in SLI is like having a small sun in your case. I was playing Squad the other night and the top card was soaring towards 86* at 93% fan speed. That is just ridiculous.

    - 2 x G10 Red
    - 2 x Corsair H75
    - 2 x Scythe GT AP-14
    - 2 x Noctua NF-B9 redux-1600 PWM
    - 2 x Gelid Solutions 4-pin PWM / VGA Adapters

And I'm going back to my Enthoo Primo as well.

Hopefully that can bring the temps down and make me enjoy my games, instead of frantically staring at MSI Afterburner :p

Let me know how that goes, gpu 1 gets pretty toasty, gpu 2 barely hit 70c.
