Oh, boy...100$ cheaper 5% slower than Fury X. This reminds me of 290 vs 290X. At 4K it performs almost good as 980ti. HH, we are waiting for your review. In meantime... http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-radeon-r9-fury-strix-review,1.html
Here is also one from digital foundry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jBjDIakZxc wheeew i thought you beat me to it Link to article http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/d...ull-spec-for-cut-down-air-cooled-r9-fury-blog
I must say great options from AMD atm. Competition is there, finally. nVidia will probably have price cuts soon. Like the card though, beast looking TRI-X cooler. R9 380 4GB 210€ R9 390 8GB 330€ R9 390X 8GB 440€ R9 Nano (?) R9 Fury 550€ ? R9 Fury X 650€
I want MSI R9 Fury Gaming 4G with voltage control and decent overclock ability.. I hope they release one. Sapphire Tri-X and Asus Strix coolers are far worse than MSI's Twin Frozr V.
Well it is definitely a recommendation over the R9 390x and gtx 980. Its performance on 4k is impressive specially with its price even compared to the gtx 980ti. However, what i would like to see is rather its OC'ing potential. DigitalFoundry:
Might cancel me X for this, as no point in that now, no point in the 390s either Knew these would be the ones to get
Lets see if AMD is able to write some good drivers for Fury@1440p before August ... or ill have a hard time to choose Fury (X) or 980ti.
Not in all fronts however. R9 280x/R9 380 4gb are dominating the middle class. R9 390/R9 290x are dominating the middle-high end class. The R9 290 cards are now cheap while supply lasts. R9 Fury is now over the gtx 980. Low end cards are cheap and offer better performance over than their counter parts but the cpu overhead is the big issue at that level. Those cards are faster when combined with the best cpu, but with weaker cpus their performance is abysmal.
nvidia is in top position, not by performance by per revengue, GM204 did the best job any card did in the last years, 970 sold so much... 980 was never impressive. I do hope amd pwn nvidia to the ground at all scales, or at least most of it and grow back marketshare, i love nvidia cards and drivers more than AMD, but i h8 them as a company, special after kepler downgrade... i guess we'll see, as for the Fury, it is better choice than 980, no reason for 980 at all now.
AMDJoe, any speculations price/performance wise where R9 Nano will land? Between 390X and Fury maybe?
That would make it too close to the fury pro. The r9 390x is selling for the 450 euros. The Fury pro is supposed to sell for the 550 euros. Now if you sell the card for 500 euros and it has a similar performance to the r9 390x people will just pick the pro over it. I say sell it for 400 euros and watch it wipe out all future nvidia sales for the high end class for awhile. Discontinue the hawaii chips and let the rest sell themselves and watch it do its magic. Oh and please don't release a 2gb version of the card. Won't do the card any good even with HBM. Make it as attractive as possible. I don't know jacksh*t about finance or economy.
Nothing I'm afraid! Nano remains a mystery to me. As far as I know, launch will be later in the summer. No date confirmed as of yet!
