Sadly it's going to be longer than I expected to finish the build. An opportunity to move has come up and I'm taking that. So the last and most expensive bits have been put on hold for the time being.

Probably going to be an extra month or two at least.

    Basic mockup needs work

    Hi all,

Working on my new build. So far I have the basic mockup. Front 180x2 rad, top 120x2, bottom 140x2 monsta rad. The res will be a 400ml and 400mm tall so its fill port will be at the top of the case. Planning on cooling cpu and gpus (maybe vrms but like the red color on the MSI X99S Gaming 9 heatsink).

    Advice please:

    Thanks

    6700k

    Hello,

With the coming of Skylake I decided to splurge on the purchase of a 6700k. After installation of windows and some early overclocking, I have to say that I am quite pleased with the purchase. Compared to my old 3930k, I notice that it's noticeably faster in everyday use, but that with high workloads it lacks the brute force of the 6-core. With some simple overclocking I was able to hit 4.8 Ghz, but the temperature of the CPU wasn't for 24/7 overclock. Eventually I settled back down to 4.6 GHz, with Vcore of 1.31 V.

I like the white accents on the motherboard (despite them being partially concealed from view), so think I will invest in some corsair sleeved cables and a white NZXT G10 (the red one is a remnant from my previous RoG motherboard). Sadly, they seem to be out of stock at the moment... :(

Really nice loop you have there (shame those cards aren't under water too :nerd:). Is that a 900D, and how easy was it to fit the "blank" panels to it as it's something I'm looking to do in the future with mine? Also what did you use, simple acrylic or metal sheets?

Yeah .. I know I should water cool the cards, but I have other priorities right now, 1 TB SSD, 4k/WQHD G-Sync monitor. After that, I will definitely consider water cooling the 980 Ti's.

Yes it's a 900D. To fill the blanks I got the parts from ColdZero. Very easy to install. Check his website . There are tons of parts for the 900D.
