Not that stock clocks even matters... the classified versions has a significantly higher OC headroom than other versions (aside of msi's lightning), and as so will be the fastest card by a fair margin, once OC is applied.

Yep, you'd be crazy really to get a Classified and not overclock it, should see some crazy clocks coming out of those.

I'd love to get a Classified to play around with it but.... they seem kinda impossible to get right now.

My EVGA SC+ overclocks surprisingly well on air. I want to get another one for SLI, but I'm almost tempted to get a Classified to SLI with it instead simply because I doubt I'd get another SC+ binned as well as this one.

Except it will be better. Classified has the TDP raised to 375 watts. So stock on paper it's the same as the G1 but likely has a higher max boost and it has way more overhead for overclocking without the need for any BIOS flashing.

Was it like that before you put the blocks on?

It was perfect on the stock coolers.

    No bending at all.

Maybe those blocks don't actually work as well on the 980 Ti as people thought. No idea though I've never used them.

    Yea seem like it.
I did notice that the thermal pads for the VRM area are much thicker compare to the ones used on the memory.

Couldn't get a 980Ti cooler to replace the reference cooler, so went with a Titan X cooler :D

Max temp 72C, so 11C down.

Those thermal pads on the memory are WAYYY to big you need 0.5mm all around. Look at mine. Here is a link to the instructions where it says 0.5mm. https://shop.ekwb.com/EK-IM/EK-IM-3831109830567.pdf

Seeing the PCB bend like that just makes me cringe :bang:

Please fix it! If not for the life of the card.. for my sanity!

    You have no idea

I'll appreciate advice on cable management (f.i. those H100 cables are hanging so randomly) btw:

I'm also interested in that one, so i'm looking forward to your experience with it, especially on the noise level.

I hope you'll be able to enjoy your 980 ti soon at least :)

I ordered the Strix last night and saw Guru3d's review today.. cancelled my order and was deciding between the G1 Gaming and the Zotac Amp Extreme. Decided to go for the G1 Gaming although I would love to fill my case(750D) up with such a beefy card.

I'm still not sure if I've made the right decision. Also after reading the comments on the review.. people think that the Strix Guru3D reviewed is faulty.

I'm really still undecided.. Amp Extreme or G1 Gaming.. or wait for more reviews of the Strix.. Oh god.. the decisions! Shoot me now!

    Edit:
and if it has coil whine then its almost certain that Ill get the Amp Extreme unless Guru3D redoes the review in that time and its much better.,

For comparison. Too lazy to open my case though.
