I went to this movie yesterday, and I am so amazed! What an awesome movie. Who also did watch the movie already? What are your opinions about the movie?
Another Spielberg PG-13 rated movie. I want real dialogue/script writing not, not kids friendly, tame dont offend granny type of stuff. I have no doubt about spectacular visuals, effects, but without realistic, dialogue script writing to back it up, might give it a miss. Saw first Jurassic, didnt like it.. again due to tame script writing characteristic of Spielbergs movies. This is the reason these movies are epic, block busters, they're family friendly.
In the trailer it looks like Chris Pratt trains the raptors like dogs or something. It was then I realized I never wanted to see this movie.
This is true. I too was a bit suspicious when I saw this. I hope you will see the movie, it didn't "damage" the movie for me. Not even a bit.
Well, I find this movie more comparable to the first Jurassic Park movie than the 2nd or 3rd. Of course the technical possibilities have improved a lot since the first Jurassic Park. They did a good job if you ask me.
This was the icing on the not seeing this cake for me. Let's remember that in canon terms this is basically the fourth time that humans have interacted with genetically modified dinosaurs and then sh*t has gone down. After three times most folk would think hmm let's either leave that island alone or nuke the crap out of it and call it a day but no let's build another theme park and then... brilliant idea lets genetically modify the genetically modified dinosaurs to make them even more likely to cause happening sh*t. Really the concept is only slightly more stupid than Chris Pratt and his pack of highly trained raptordoodles.
strange it is like my world i dont hear people swearing. i also do not see people wearing next to nothing, or smoking all the time or taking drugs and children are fairly polite and resonably well behaved. And adults are friendly and polite. maybe i live in a bubble though i do send my son to a private school maybe that has somthing to do with it. I am waiting for this to be released to bluray/3D then will be watching it.
You do seem to live in a bit of a bubble. That said, you shouldn't expect people to be swearing and acting out all of the time. One of the times you really would expect it is when being chased by a dinosaur of all things, if a T-Rex was trying to eat me I'd be using language a little more colourful than "Oh bother!" I can tell you.
Gonna go and see this movie in one of the coming days with the gf - she really likes dinosaurs (as do i) and the jurasic films (me not as much) - hopefully it will be much better than jurasic park 2 and 3, but im not expecting too much... seems like a brain dead action movie, which the reviews more or less confirms.
There were references to the first Jurassic Park. It's a popcorn fluff movie. Every characterization were all too stereotypical to a fault. They even made "the enemy of my enemy is a friend" hokey. How does inGen even still exist? The catastrophic failures that company has created; what kind of government backing does inGen have? The ending absolutely killed it for me; from the last shots of the dinosaurs to the schlocky last sequence of the main characters. The first movie did not sugar coat the havoc; Goldblum's character gave it balance.
Characters were pathetically boring and non three dimensional. Their characters changed traits depending on what scene they are in. One minute they don't care for the animals, next they do, next they don't, then they want to kill them, then they let them live.... I hated every character in the movie, I just wanted them all to die. Why no Sam Neil? Its only based 20 years after the original and he could of shown up in the movie, or they could of had Chris Pratt's character be Sam Neil's son and have him have that raptor claw that Sam had in the original. Would of made sense seen as how he has this bond with the raptors. Sorry but the build up when they are going to use the raptors, just fell totally flat, one minute they are building up to a battle, next it all goes tits up. Thanks film, you just ruined a good battle scene. Why so much CGI??? The original had the perfect blend of CGI and animatronics this film just uses CGI for about 95% of the animals. They try to tie it into the original movie and its just like, yeah thanks for reminding me that that is a better movie why aren't I just watching that. The first movie was WOW this is awesome, good characters, good story, and amazing SFX for the 90's. This film just falls flat in every way APART from the build up to the reveal of the T-REX and that last battle was EPIC! But again it ended pathetically, it was too obvious what was going to happen. I much prefer the original and even prefer the 2nd movie Lost World as well, at least that had the epicness that was the T-REX in the city at the end which was beyond amazing. This is much better than the 3rd movie, that can just burn in hell for all I care, terrible movie that was. I give this new one overall a 4/10 should of been much better!!!! PS/ Sorry if this spoils anything for people, but really I didn't give anything away.
Movie was a checklist of tropes. Starring some of your favorites, such as: -Phones/Radios mysteriously breaking up/not working -Bad boy kid with zero personality until he's put into a hard situation, then the feels commence -Frigid girl learns feels -Trained commandos can't hit anything -Bullets don't work -Dr. Evil esque military bad guy And many more! I still recommend seeing it because at a basic level it's still entertaining. I was lucky enough to see it for free so I have no ragrets.
Saw the movie last night in imax. Good and entertaining but didn't like the usual Hollywood cheesy lines...
I love the references to the original! I really liked the movie, ending was awesome. It had its weakness, such as how did the kid use his matches after taking a dip... but w/e, no biggies.
