It`s not a new chip,it`s the same old Hawaii but now is called Granada, also there is not GCN 1.3...the most advance version of the GCN is 1.2 and is in Fury XT.

This is me for sure. Depending on how much the flagship sells for in the UK, it may be out of my price range. Besides fitting the cooler in my machine may prove difficult.

R9 390 and R9 390X can not have the same number of shader equal 2816!!!

    R9 390 = 2560
    R9 390X = 2816

    and R9 390 and R9 390X have GCN 1.1

    GCN 1.2 only R9 285, R9 380 and R9 Fury

Both club3d and MSI rate their vanilla 290x to 250W TDP, according to links below, and ASUS rate their vanilla 290x up to 300W. Can' any find of those slides from MSI on their site though.

Wonder what kind of technical power consumption definitions they are working with there.

    http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/radeon-r9-290x.html
    http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R9-290X-4GD5.html#hero-specification

Luckily Hilbert will do a proper review everyone should read before making any decision regarding purchases. Hope they will do at least some improvement in the TDP department, that would be nice, then I might consider as a primary card I use for my gaming needs for years to come. I guess I could do with up to 300 Watts, but it would have to be Fury X performance level for me, since it's such a big investment, either of them.

Well all of this looks good to me, i know everyone is sceptical about what is being shown but AMD post most of there plans in there road maps.

2013-2015 was Directx 12/Mantle intergration aswell as technique improvement.

2016 had a focus of energy efficiency, so if 2013-2015 stuff was completed ahead of time then this is the result of them working on 2016 power efficiency is it not?

How can both 390 and 390X have 2816 shaders? Fake.

That the thing, GPU-Z don't know what to check anymore since it know it's a 290 but it's a 390 at the same time so it's showing two info. so a new version of GPU-Z will fix that.

but those GPU-Z screenshots are 99% valid (!)
