@eclap There is also a video teaser of this card who is actually a seven second slideshow of the posted image (including 3 seconds of black image). "It's coming", the Movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5bVoIQrH7g LOL I will REALLY be amazed if performance on par driver is released... REALLY!!! Edit: How can i properly add a YouTube video link here? Official bb codes don't work: http://forums.guru3d.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#youtube :bang:
I know you guys love teasers, well here's another. https://twitter.com/AMDRadeon/status/605938931448737792
It says: "A new era of PC Gaming. Coming 06.16.15." If that is worse than 980Ti, then this "New Era" is not that new and is already here. Lucky AMD still has benefit of the doubt with some of us. You seem to have delivered with FX-8800p, now we need some less than stupid manufacturer to make right device. Spoiler What's so hard on making 12~14'' without dGPU with 1600x900 screen? That's optimum for single SoC like FX-8800p. 2x4GB ram, preferably 2133MHz if that affects performance in any way over 1866MHz. Freesync present, non-negotiable. Carrizo can do it, it has to use it for internal screen. 1x HDD slot, 1x M.2-sata slot. Optical drive optional and if present replaceable with HDD/additional battery. Touchscreen optional, but preferred. Keyboard under lighted, white is enough. Kensington welcomed.
AMD way too quiet about it, no leaked benches anything. Either they tweaking it further or they really wanna surprise all. I think it will be at least 10% faster than Titan X, cost 800-900$ and could be tied with oc titan x or 980ti, while consuming much more power.
I actually thought that the HBM would make much of a different in terms of performance, but that if it performs equal to a titan x/980 it, i would kind of feel bad. If nvidia can squeeze that much out of GDDR5, and it takes AMD HBM to match the performance of a titan x, then amd is hitting rock bottom.
How someone can tell that one card is slower than other without heavy tests? I think Nvidia is spreading these rumors to sell all 980Ti BEFORE the Fury is launched because they know the real potential of the HBM. They have money for that and, knowing them, it's not a surprise. If 390X is like 20% faster and $50 cheaper than 980Ti, what cardyou will buy (despite drivers problems)? And what Nvidia thinks about that?
wonder if amd be in front at 1080p this time or still only at higher res thanks largely to higher memory bandwidth
AMD needs their own 970, at least three times to be real threat to nvidia. Even if Fiji is 20% faster than titan, it won't sell well due to price.
We do not know price nor performance. And there is market for top dog cards. It is smaller, but it is market of its own.
Fiji XT should be about 16% faster than the 980 ti at 4k without factoring in HBM memory. Fiji Pro will probably be about on par with the 980ti with about $600 price. Fiji pro is named Radeon Fury with Radeon Fury X for the Fiji XT. Pro is rumored to be 4gb. XT is rumored to come in 4gb & 8gb models we know both have wce but unsure if there are non wce.
People at AMD who have actual information must be laughing their asses off. Because that wannabe leaked configuration with 4096SP floats around for a year now. Same way as 290x rumor had it as 2880SP instead of 2816SP till very end, and then some dared to say that they were true and one CU is locked for manufacturing purposes in case of minor defect... Every single thing which includes number is fabricated by 3rd party which has no relation to AMD whatsoever. There is only one way to get info about architecture and that would be reverse engineering of drivers for each architecture and understand way AMD does different code paths for different hardware. @AMDMAtt, do you know exact count of SP/TMU/ROPs on upcoming cards which will feature HBM? (those we should see 16th of June 2015) Not asking you to give as any numbers/name, just say Yes/No. (That will help some people to understand how seriously AMD takes on NDA.)
Fox I cannot comment on anything we've not officially announced, this includes the things you've mentioned. Expect more information from us on the 16th. I'm sure you understand.
