All the benchmarks that have been run on TW3 are with bugged drivers. The latest are supposed to fix it and lots of people are reporting ~10-20% improvements on Kepler.

1 frame...... 1 frame at 1080 are you serious right now. You have to be trolling. Neither card is above 30FPS at 1440p. Please try again.

I dont know where you see that 1 frame.

    1080p max settings

    7970 : 23 fps, 680 : 19 fps

And bear in mind, this is not the ghz edition.

Both under 30FPS. Do you enjoy playing a slide show. And as TK posted this is not the latest driver with the Kepler fix.

How is that relevant? This is simply what fps they get at 1080p max settings, regardless of what you think about it.

The 980ti/kepler fix driver is 353.06. Test was done on 352.86. I dont need to understand Russian to see that.

I cancelled them after the rumours about the 980Ti's started circling, thought I'd sit back and see how they compared to the Titan X's before I committed.

After the SLI GTX 880 disaster (remember, the one that gave problem in welding from a certain driver version) and oven called GTX 570. I went for the red team and I'm very pleased (especially my wallet) with my crossfire of 280X. Notice the slight differences in performance among similar models of the two brands in games like Hitman, Battlefield, GTA V without the cheat codes of this disgusting and dirty company called Nvidia. The witcher 3 (do not know why, :puke2:Nvidia) had a number of "problems" with the graphics setting in Ultra and when used the SweetFX: pronto problem solved. Do not be naive, value their money. Nvidia is like FIFA, understand ...

    Hahaha ok.

On a serious note now, people would recommend SLI? I wanted to stay with one card but it is so difficult to resist.

I would. I came from CF and now I have SLI, it's a much smoother experience than CF was. I really want two of these myself but don't know if i should or just go with one for now and throw a second in later.

Been using sli for a good 10 years and some 3dfx sli as well, I can recommend it no problem. Think I`m going to snag up 2 980ti fairly soon, that is a very nice upgrade from 780ti sli.

If you intend to buy 2, I would recommend 144Hz G-Sync monitor + 1card as a start. (if you do not mind being locked on nVidia or sacrifice this feature in case you return to AMD)

Because with that and even with 1card, you'll have good performance. And even if you go below 60fps, it will fee more smooth than standard 60~144Hz screen.
And once on 2 cards, you'll have much harder time noticing any kind of frame time variance.

On other hand same goes for Freesync.

    But he's right.
Yeah, I'm wondering about the same, but the usual explanation is taxes, shipping to Europe, hardware being traded in US$.... whatever, they just CAN charge more and that's why they do it.

But isn't the US$ pretty high? At least compared to the €, so I thought it would be quite the same with CAN$.

2way SLI has been a sweetspot for a good number of years now. The scaling is almost perfect and it is rare for games to not have an SLI profile on release date. I've been using it with 2x580s, 2x680s and now 2x970s and I will most likely grab 2 cards in my next upgrade as well.

Yes sorry what i meant was the CAN$ dropped but not the US$ which is why everything is so expensive, Even after exchange here theres always an extra 10-20$ premium added on pretty much all comp hardware.:3eyes:
