Eye-candy. Realistic hair, decent ambient occlusion (sometimes), amazing physx effects..
It's fully Nvidia's fault, I read that loud and clear, but I'm a sucker for gimmicks. I admit that.
I want to see all the graphical bells and whistles..

I understand that the gameworks "features" will not add anything to the gameplay per se, but I really want to experience them.
AMD has never closed their code, TressFX was optimized for Nvidia by Nvidia in consequent drivers.. I'm beyond upset with the green mafia..
To straight up deny access.. Can't they be sued for uncompetitive practices?

Look on the bright side. At least we can disable GameWorks features for now!

Because we are well educated customers, and we don't support the PR bull**** from NVidia, even if it hurts us a little bit on the Eye Candy side sometimes?

There is also the point that for cheaper than the price of a GTX 970, you can get a nice Sapphire R9 290x. And no matter about GameWorks etc, if you plan on keeping it for more than a year, it is worth so much more.

We always aim to have the best available driver optimisations in our latest catalyst releases for launching game titles. :)

AMD hardware and driver much be utterly **** before i switch to Nvidia.
I don't like the way they operate and their anti competitive behaviour. I also find them very arrogant.

Hope the 390 is a killer card.

@ AMDMatt, why did AMD cancel their monthly catalyst programme?
Those were the good old days.

We're still very much aiming to release a driver every month, or thereabouts. I know there was a bit of delay between the release of 14.12 Omega and 15.3 Beta, but since then we've been releasing drivers frequently, as we've always done previously.

    15.3 Beta released 20th March
    15.4 released 13th of April
    15.4.1. released 8th of May

As soon as our next driver is ready i will post it here for everyone to download, as i usually do, so stay tuned!

You see it is always these politically formed answers, despite he just wanted a yes or no for an answer.

TBH it looks better than I thought it would.

    • Very good drawing distance, some pop in (is there an open world game without it); nothing major
    • Good attention to detail, yet everything is of similar quality so nothing sticks out
    • No glaring aliasing and just about right amount of sharpness ; Witcher 2 was too sharp; will look slightly crisper w/o video compression
    • evil HBAO+ compliments the game superbly

Runs great just how I anticipated :D And Hairworks... even NV struggles atm.

If that is the case it would be a disapointment.
As the latest 15.4.1 release added nothing but support for upcoming freesync monitors.

    @AMDMatt

AMD can add support for something not even out but not a crossfire profile for Elite Dangerous?
